Bullydog GT, or DiabloSport Trinity?

Post by Juday » Tue Oct 22, 2013 9:21 pm

So, the time is growing near for me to purchase a programmer. I've got a 2012, so I believe these are my only two options. Those who have had both (myoung), which do you prefer and why? I'm more than likely just going to be running the 87 octane tune, rather than the "hotter" tunes.

Thanks fellas.

If you're not going to run a custom 91 octane tune, then I would get the BullyDog. There's not much difference in the canned tunes and the BullyDog has more features and the display is pretty cool. The Diablo has a lot more potential for extra power.

Juday - were you ever able to get your bullydog GT working? I've had all kinds of problems getting mine to work. I even called the help line and had them wipe and reload the files on the SD card. Still no dice.

Sorry, I just saw this. I still haven't ordered mine. It's on the never ending mod list to be purchased at some point.....

Juday, I just got the Diablo Intune DCX and love it. I called Moe's Performance and that's what the guy recommended. I wish I had done this 3 years ago. I was averaging 10.9mpg with 35"s. I now have 37"s and averaging 14.3 mpg on the MPG Booster Tune on 87 octane and see steady upper 17 mpg on the highway. I did a 2 hour trip to the beach after I got the top on with the cruise on 60 mph and got 18.1 mpg! With the Hemitune on 93 octane and nothing in the bed of my truck, it will spin all the way through 1st and bark into second (with the 37"s). I had a difficult time getting a 0-75 mph WOT full pull for Sean to check the tune with it spinning. It really has come alive. Now, with a top on it and a few hundred pounds of tools it's still faster than it ever was, has more torque and gets better gas mileage.

I have no experience with any of the others...

$600 for the Trinity Tuner w/ Hemitune!!!!!!!!!!!!! :jawdrop:

Does the Trinity offer the ability to lower the TPMS settings on the computer?

I fit does, it's not worth the extra $200 to me!

I sort feel bad chiming in on this one as it is going to sound like I'm a lucky Ahole, but I suppose I am. All I can say is DiabloSport called me and offered me a custom tuned programmer to use on the Ultimate Adventure despite the fact they are not an official sponsor. I thought that was pretty cool of them. It will be specifically set-up for my 40" tires and 5.13 gears. Obviously I have not used it yet, but Chris was very cool and good to work with on the phone. He even offered to help me out after the UA to put together with Ripp Superchargers and Magnum Transmissions a whole power package for my truck. I think on customer service and support they have my future business.

On a side note, I also have two other Dodge guy's (not PW's though) who run the DiabloSport and both love them. All this is mentioned in the "for what it's worth" category!

Damn nice job! Keep me informed. I have the Superchips but this may be the way to go later once I get 5.13 gears and 11.5 rear end down the road. My speedo works good with Superchips it's adjustable to 42" tires. Wish it had a little more power. I run the 93 tune always.

I will test the hell out of the combination for you during the event and give you a full report after it is over! An unbiased one!
