Re: Locker Bypass Rebirth

Many thanks for taking the time to do this, Retired! I did this to my 07 Tacoma and it was F’ing A! I have a scheduled build date of March 11 for a 19 Tradesman PW (Dial transmission shift and push-button lockers). Is the wiring for the new ones largely the same as the 17-18s and would your unit in...

Re: Locker Bypass / Locker Engagement question

Even if you think there's no load on the system and you're driving perfectly straight, there might be tire wear and pressure differences that effect the overall circumference of the tires causing differential action in the gears. The manufacturer puts a 3 MPH engagement nanny on the system for a rea...

Re: No lights in the Locker Knob.

Well.........this didn't last long. The lights went out again. The dealer traced the problem back to the smartbar. There is no power coming out. Dealer wants $1,200 for a new bar. Anyone has a good place to get one. Isn't your truck covered by a lifetime warranty? If they try to tell you that the w...

Perfect Thanks Retired!!
Is #1 pin labeled "12 volt positive" and #4 is labeled "12 volt negative?" Just want to double check.
Correct!
Also, for testing the front actuator, it’s the same wire orientation, but you only have to jack up one wheel to test it.

Re: Frustrated with 2012 PW design flaws and repeated fixes

Lift the rear wheels off the ground, apply power and ground to pin #1 and #4 of the axle plug. If the wheels turn with power off and don’t turn with power applied, then your actuator is good. http://forum.powerwagonregistry.org/download/file.php?id=14399&mode=view If the evap filter or ESIM isn’t wo...

Re: Frustrated with 2012 PW design flaws and repeated fixes

Sorry to hear that you're having these problems. :( #2 Happens on other HD trucks as well (especially Chevy/GMC). #3 & 4 A locker bypass will make this better than new for $450, or you can return it for a full refund if you're not satisfied. #5 I would clean the evap filter and replace the ESIM for ...

Any expierence with using the pullpal? I’d like to have some kind of Anchor really, I’d rather have too much equipment being by myself.
I haven't needed it yet, but I wouldn't go solo without it. Even in a group it would come in handy providing an anchor point where none exists.

Your Locker Bypass Install Pics

The Issue: The installation instructions for the 4th Gen locker bypass were originally written by MYoung84 for 2010-2013 trucks. I've added a page at the beginning and an addendum at the end to try and add clairity, but it's difficult to add new content for the 4.5 Gen trucks since I don't own one....

Please add me to the list. I have a 2005. Question: Will this bypass kill my SERV 4x4 light on dash?
Thanks,
Sam
You’re added to the list. It’ll make your lockers work and stop the flashing locker lights, but I’m not sure how it will effect your SERV 4X4 light.

So, not only did he have to get rescued by a PW, then he went and purposefully bought Duratrac tires. Now he's going to add a winch and bumper. The money he claims to have saved in not buying a PW is disappearing quickly. :cash: There's a sucker born every minute.
