I had bags on my CTD and they were great for load leveling and control. I don't tow heavy very often, anymore, so I've left it alone so far.
For what it's worth, my intent wasn't to hijack the thread. Was just curious about how he felt before and after the leveling kit.

Re: Stickman's Daily Driver/Weekend Warrior Power Wagon Buil
Yup! I was using one at the time, too. That's a result of a pretty heavy load in the bed, plus the tongue weight, with a little less than 1k of distribution.

They definitely squat quite a bit but I can imagine that it would be a PITA when towing something like this with an extra 2" of lift up front...[img]

Re: Any ideas before I put this thing up for sale?
You are a diesel guy. X2 - I can relate. I am definitely a deisel guy. I feel like my Hemi is working waaaay too hard to really get moving. The reason... I've been daily driving and hauling with a CTD. I could leave that thing in 6th gear and pull almost any mountain pass at 65-80 mph and not feel ...

Re: Stickman's Daily Driver/Weekend Warrior Power Wagon Buil
Sharp looking truck! Have you towed with it yet, after the leveling kit? I have been giving a lot of thought to leveling my truck, but I do tow fairly heavy from time to time 8-9k and the California look of a truck with its nose way up isn't my thing (sorry Cali PW owners).

I have a badass little cooker that I plug into my cigarette lighter plug that I cook hotdogs and sausage on the trail for lunch which is pretty damn cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk/hopefully somewhere Offroad! I'm all about the cheap PB! I've got some pretty sweet setups for cooking too. i...

Gonna be sad to leave Moab. …… I've been telling people if you really love to wheel and go off roading, don't go to Moab. It will pull you in and never let go. There is no description for Moab other than Moab. It is mellow and extreme at the same time. In fact, it's difficult for me to see these pi...

Re: Tough Day At The Mechanics
To keep it all factory PW stuff, you're right. I was thinking that you might be able to save some cash by dropping a non-PW axle in it and do a little work to get the wiring through. I definitely didn't know that they had different castor - that makes a lot of sense. Learned something new - thanks f...

That truck is insane! I'm a little surprised to see that that A/C compressor is still on it. You must be going for that true sleeper look... until you remove those 6 screws under the truck and step on the go pedal!

I don't care if I have to sleep in my truck and eat PB & J sandwiches on the trip to have enough gas money I am going to try to make it next year. We definitely need to pin down a date. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk/hopefully somewhere Offroad! You gonna share that PB&J?? I'll probably be park...

Re: Tough Day At The Mechanics
Sorry to hear about the axle trouble. Have you called around to see if you might be lucky enough to have a truck in a local junk yard with a good replacement axle. Remember, it doesn't need to be a PW.

Re: Roof Top Tents - Suggestions
Hmmm, does that truck bed tent scratch the shit out of your paint in the wind? It's something to consider, but if I load up a whole bunch of firewood and other materials, that means that I would have to take all that crap out and clean out the bed, just so I can go to sleep. But, the price savings ...

Re: Roof Top Tents - Suggestions
The tent is made by a company called Kodiak Canvas - they make some great tents. I can't remember the total cost I paid, but you can get em through Amazon for around $300 (a far cry from what a RTT costs, without the storage hassle and weight). My parents have a Kodiak Canvas 12'x14' ground tent and...

Re: Roof Top Tents - Suggestions
Here's one of my setups - though it's not an RTT. I like this because it's a lot cheaper, easier to transport and store, and gives me more than enough space for what I need. The canvas is breathable, weather resistant, has plenty of windows, and is really simple to set-up. One of the things I like b...

X2 on the weight question. That thing looks awesome and definitely sets you up for being comfortable and hosting a hell of a party wherever you stop! My only worry would be towing something that heavy up a trail with the ball hitch. Those things aren't meant to vertically articulate much, especially...

I've got one of these little devils and it's always with me in the truck - as an everyday way to charge a laptop, or my phone it's great. The other benefit is that it will start the tuck, if needed, too. In addition to the MicroStart, I bring one of these ( http://www.amazon.com/Jump-N-Carry-JNCAIR-...

This doesn't help much for how to get everything mounted, but I can say that I had looked at TREDs, too. After a bunch of research, I ended up going with the Aussie made MAX TRAX. I haven't tested them yet, but they feel really well made and like they'd do quite a bit. My biggest worry with either o...

Nice work on the fab job. Is the inner cage removable? If it is, that's really nice if you needed to remove the topper for anything. If it's not meant to be, tying that thing into the frame would give you more rollover protection than the cab!

Re: Spark plug replacement
Thanks, Sheepdog! I ended up going with a .045 gap. I bought the truck with 92k on the clock and wanted to start getting down to maintenance, so that I know that it's been done and done right. I can't be sure if the plugs that were in it were the originals, but I suspect that they weren't. What I do...

Re: Spark plug replacement
Hey Gents, Apologies for bringing this thread back from the dead. I am about to tackle some maintenance on my truck (2008 PW w/ almost at 100k miles) and I was doing a double check on spark plug gap. My manual says 0.040" but it looks like the general consensus is 0.045" - five thousandths isn't muc...
