Re: Air Lift Bags and Uptravel

So I stopped at a place near my house to take some shots tonight, thought it might help. This is with 40psi in the bags. I thought I took a pic of the DS rear in compression, but I got a phone call right about that same time. Must have spaced it. Sad times.

Re: 14+ Possible Fan Clutch failure?

My thermostat housing finally shipped today (16 days after order). I'll report back when I get it in.

Re: Air Lift Bags and Uptravel

I hear you on the flex. Might see if you can get an answer directly out of AirLift on just how much it would limit compression. I don't think at the end of the day you'd notice it though. If you find they are a problem, I'll trade you mine! Good luck in putting the Twin up front. As you know it's ti...

Re: Air Lift Bags and Uptravel

Off-road use? What part of the country? If you're not building the rest of the suspension and really do above average stuff on the trails, get the ones with the internal stops. You'll be fine. My truck is 9,260# and I run 35-40 lbs of air in the bags to bring it level with the Thuren front springs. ...

Re: Air Lift Bags and Uptravel

I think it depends on which ones you get. I was worried somewhat about a hit to articulation myself, so I went without the ones with the internal bumps. I don't think there is much if any total upward loss. Remember, you're loosing the stock bumps and cast spacer blocks. Now, that said, you'd better...

Thuren Bumper - what lights?

Finally got around to putting my Thuren on last weekend. Wondering what lights Don had in mind when he set it up for those outboard wing holes. Assuming BD. The geometry of the holes and the setback needed is not the best IMHO. After putting 5000k HIDs in the projectors and high beams, not sure I re...

Re: 37

Klien 6,000 lb. latch seen here. Only one needed for both swings.

Oh, and the limit pins would never drop, so care had to be taken that the arms wouldn't continue unabated on around with 110 pounds of tire/wheel or liquid into the bedside. There was no welded hard-stop.

Re: 37

Well, from an owner, not sure I'd buy one again. The company was very dishonest about many things including lead times (some guys gave up after 14+ weeks), Park Assist (forget it, they'll never work) and latch operation. The latter was really the deal breaker for me. Countless times they would jam, ...

Re: 14+ Possible Fan Clutch failure?

I was too, initially, but watching the temp gauge (and interior heater air temp) change extremely rapidly, kinda ruled out the viscous clutch. Besides, even if the clutch failed, a properly working thermostat wouldn't let the engine temps drop.

If there is slight play and you feel a slight click in the steering wheel, look at your upper intermediated shaft coupling above your feet. EMF makes bushings for it.

I've got the bushings, just haven't put them in yet.

Re: 14+ Possible Fan Clutch failure?

After some thought and investigation, I *think* the problem is the thermostat. I have a new assembly on order and will update this thread when I put it in.

Re: 14+ Possible Fan Clutch failure?

I didn't have time to investigate it today. Ran it around town a bit, but haven't done a physical check yet. I just have a feeling it is the clutch as it would explain the dramatic drop in MPG.

14+ Possible Fan Clutch failure?

So I ran my truck pretty hard for three days on the beach in Mexico last weekend. Temps ran fine(210*-215*) and I could hear the fan cycle as you'd expect. Last night I drove from Phoenix to my home in Flagstaff and I decided to do a MPG test and Cat Scale the truck (9,260) with the Four Wheel Campe...

They've demostrated they don't even know how or when to use those systems. Some of their earlier videos, they're turning on the front and rear lockers on a dirt road for ZERO REASON. I agree with you. I like those guys, but I cringe a lot becuase yeah. They don't know what they're doing. And it's d...

Did you remove the exhaust resonator at some prior point? If so you might be hearing the MDS kicking in more when you let off the throttle at higher speed. Do RPMs go up like if is downshifting from 6-5?

I really don't do much mud, and will go out of my way to avoid it if possible, but I do 2-3k of desert dirt/sand a year. And it's been a year since I put mine in. I had it on my lift this past weekend eyeing available real-estate for some future mods, and I gave them a good once over. My concern was...

Pretty sure it is avail on all crew SB trims, but possibly not. XL? I'm not in the market for one, so my interest isn't that high.
