Re: New forest partol truks
So do 4th Gens & 5th Gens, that's why there are extreme duty ball joints avail for them all (5th Gen avail early 2018) ---nothing has changed there. If they were so much better, there would be no need for after market parts. As long as they use ball joints that are on different axis & u-joints in t...

Re: New forest partol truks
No one wants to buy a new vehicle and have to make warranty trips back to the stealership for issues. No one wants to have to go back for free recalls either. A manufacturers model reputation is everything. Gen 3 Ram trucks have had a bad reputation with shitty front end death wobbles.

For some reason I have a feeling everything you said to that guy went in one ear and right out the other. If it even made it in one ear. Tell us more about the sound level when you are working the truck hard - like towing a camper etc. Most people have noted a substantial annoying increase in sound level in that situation.

Re: Lifetime Power Train Warranty for 3G
RustyPW - It's 10 years old - It's only a matter of time before you have a RustyPW. The salt is an eventual killer - any rust on the fenders or rockers yet? Better trade while they still make Power Wagons :poke: I guess that's why I opted not to get any type of lifetime warranty - I've never had a v...

To get what you really want - It would be great to have a 3-speed Transfer case. Swap out the BorgWarner 44-47 to get:
Low Range (what we currently have)
Creeper Gear Highway Range (new TwinStick range )
High Range (what we currently have)

Re: Ford's 10 speed auto....
So, here is my question: Do you think a 10 speed auto that was geared as follows: 1) 5.69:1 2) 4.69:1 3) 3.69:1 4) 3.0:1 5) 2.69:1 6) 2.0:1 7) 1.69:1 8) 1.0:1 9) 0.85:1 10) 0.67:1 Would get that much worse mpg than these ratio's ? http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2016/09/2017-ford-f-150-features-all-ne...

Re: Balance beads ?
From an engineering perspective, the centramic balancer is only going to correct out of balance conditions in the rotational direction - much like the old time bubble balance machines. Although, it does have an advantage over the bubble balancers in that it can continue to adjust over time. If your ...

Re: Kill-switch for electronic nannies
Ok, I tried it with just the sensor on the passenger side. It still dosnt work. Oddly enough, though, I did find out that if I swing it into 4wd before the “check anti-lock braking system” light comes on right when the truck is started, the CAD will lock up. But if the light is on, then it wont loc...

Re: Need some math help here...........................
Increasing your drive pulley diameter by 1/2" will require a belt that's about 8/10th of an inch longer. So get one that's an inch longer and use the belt tensioning adjustment to take up the slack.

Re: Need some math help here...........................
Circumference is Pi times diameter. So your belt speed is directly proportional to your drive pulley diameter. If your drive pulley goes from 2.5" diameter to 3.5" diameter, then your impeller speed will go from 1100 rpm to 1540 rpm. If your drive pulley goes from 3" diameter to 4" diameter, then yo...

Re: Kill-switch for electronic nannies
As an experiment try unplugging one of your wheel speed sensors. It will set an ABS code and turn on the light. When the system knows that it’s not trustworthy due to missing sensor input it shuts itself off and turns on the dash light. Then see how it starts and drives. In theory if ABS is shutdow...

Re: 2019 1500 Info Release
I doubt they'd do 4.88's and 37's, but it would be really cool if from the factory they setup the new suspension and truck knowing that people will put 35's or 37's on their truck. Mopar did this with the new JL. They know guys want bigger tires. So they made it that you could run 35's right out of...

Just because you ordered the truck doesn't absolutely mean that you need to buy it - even if it is 100% what you ordered... Just saying
But then you may need to order another one from a different dealer.

Funny, but who are we to talk? Our 3/4 ton trucks can’t legally carry 1500 pounds. Ha. My half ton ram, wifes yukon and old dodge grand caravan have higher payloads than my power wagon lol. And payload isn't a legal term... Exceeding Registered GVWR, exceeding axle weight rating, exceeding tire wei...
