Re: Rear hop between 45 and 50 mph, anyone else?
It is possible (although very remotely) that the oil in your rear diff is so worn out, your getting chatter from that. I know when my rear diff oil was shot, I would get a chatter when turning left or right. Changed out the oil, noise was gone. Could also be any of the things you mentioned. Fresh a...

Re: Flashing rear locker after being on the highway, sensor
Thanks for the tips, the oil is fresh, and I cleaned the magnets when I was in there as well as adding a filtermag.
The oil was dirty however not that bad (original oil at 40K, no towing or hauling).
I will keep an eye on it, if it only happens on the highway my suspect is heat causing an issue.

Now that you mention it I also notice it goes away after a bit and I only notice when it first starts.Cactus Red wrote:I've had that since day one. It's not tires, and it goes away after a few miles of driving.
Hmm, wonder WTH could possibly be the cause.

Rear hop between 45 and 50 mph, anyone else?
So I have been getting mild hopping feeling between 45 and 50mph for a while and can't seem to figure it out. Tires have been balanced twice, rotated and it makes a little difference but not much. The old tires did this as well but not as bad (almost like its getting worse). I have heard/read everyt...

Flashing rear locker after being on the highway, sensor out?
Howdy, Just got back from a 600mile round trip and about halfway in on the trip out the rear locker light started flashing. Got there and driving around town the next day the light never came on (mostly around town with a little 55mph). Coming home after driving around town again and about 30 miles ...

Thinking of upgrading my trackbar, Carli or Thuren?
Howdy,
Looking to tighten up the front end on my truck, both bars seem top notch, is one better than the other for the price difference?
My truck that is a street queen 90% of the time with some mild/slower offroad exploring, I will be doing some overland shocks at the same time (truck has 43K).

Re: Airaid Intake?
Save you money and just get a AEM drop in for the stock box. I have had a few different intake on my hemis, they all make noise and maybe a little bump in HP (up top, lose low end) and MPG. I just went back the stock box and AEM from a volant with both the Powercore and the oiled filter. I am happie...

Re: Tonneau Cover and Side Steps For PW
Figured I would bump this thread with an update. I just received and installed the new MX4 bakflip and I highly recommend it (its the replacement to the HD). With out getting into all the details I was having some issues with my F1(fading/seal issue),bakflip honored their warranty and offered me the...

Re: Tonneau Cover and Side Steps For PW
I have had the following BAKflips. Older G2, Fibermax, HD, F1. I would recommend a G2, HD or possible the new Revolver as both my Fibermax and F1 faded, even using the 3m 303 as instructed. I have also had some hinge seal issues, I will say the company is awesome and the warranty is also awesome, th...

6-speed stick owners, noisy stick fix
I have had the 6th gear highway sing since I have owned the truck, the noise went away if I nudged the stick slightly to the pass side. I decided to try and fix it recently by adding some dynamat extreme to the stick and low and behold it is much, much quieter and no more singing 6th gear lol. I add...

Thinking of an intake, I can't recommen the Volant Powercore
Just passing along a FYI in regards to Volant intakes and the powercore filter (at least for a 3rd gen). I really like the Volant intake on my truck as its a true cold air and keeps the factory resonator (for torque) however I have had issues wit the powercore filter fitment. The powercore does not ...

Re: Power Wagon snow plow
On the 3rd gens you have to Fab or modify the mount to keep the winch (shares the same mounting points). I have seen a early 4th gen with a Boss on it that kept the winch but it made the truck useless with the mount hanging so low. I would look at a Western if you do a plow, you can take receivers o...

Re: Plastic bed insert or rubber mat?
I have a BedTread with the molar rubber mat in mine.
I don't haul/use the bed a lot however I really like this combo.
I got the BedTread cheap off eBay and have no complaints, might be something to look at, more commercial use friendly over the bedrug.

The entire front end is stock/original except for the recall (39K).
Having the dealer check to make sure its all covered before I come in now that my extended warranty has been corrected to be Added Care + (should be)

Re: Weird noise as speed increases, what to look for?
He said no change in sound when turning. But highway speed is where wheel bearings will show themselves. Loading and unloading each side would tell you which one easily. I would say it sounds more like its something covered in ice. Were you going through any deep snow or slush or drifts prior to th...

Weird noise as speed increases, what to look for?
I know trying to diagnose a noise over the interweb is almost impossible, but some of you might have experienced this. With the recent cold snap I am getting some humming or wirring noise (almost like a noisy heater blower motor, its off though) as speed increases over 30. Its not RPM dependent and ...

Re: Time for ball Joints. Do i go OE, Carli or Dynatrac
Might be going OE, I need to talk to the dealer a bit more but if anything fails on the OE's labor and parts are covered.
Aftermarket, SOL on labor.
And if it takes longer to install or more time they may not do it.
If I go OE I can put the money towards a track bar, control arms, shocks, etc...

Time for ball joints at 35K. Do I go cheap and let them do OE under my service contract for $100 or Spend the $800+ for Carli and the $100 deductible for bullet proof ones and never worry again or Spend the $600+ for Dyntrac and the $100 deductable for good ones and most likly never worry again.
