Re: Oil help?!

Stand by my shell t6 0-40! I've got 5 trucks with combined mileage of over 3 million km. Oil has never been a cause or problem for anything. I also buy it by the pail or 45gal drum depending on who has what on sale.

Re: Tires

I could tell you very well what works and what doesn't. And what's marginable. But what some consider snow wheeling I call just going to work in the morning or coming home.... oh and I'm from Canada so what do we actually know about snowy and icy highway conditions...... Lol lots of good options. I ...

Re: Recovery gear questions!

I find when overplanning for some adventure it's best to pull a 36' gooseneck with you with a spare truck, a skid steer and a truck box camper on it. But honestly a good set of sockets and wrenches and pliers are worth their weight in gold. I've done brake repairs to shock removal to changing tie ro...

Re: MPG calculator versus hand calculations

There is almost no relevant data in any of these threads. I data logged about 70k miles this year and can tell you exactly where my mileage is peak and where it started to suffer. I have a lot less miles in the PW but I can still tell you. On the highway, if I drive 55mph I get roughly 15mpg (15.5M...

Re: MPG calculator versus hand calculations

Keep in mind that as your truck gets older it gets heavier. I know I know what's that supposed to mean. Well pretty easy to fill a trucks cubbies with 40-50lbs of gear, change, cups, boots or shoes, tools, sliders, tool box. A bed liner would add 10-20 lbs maybe. Even dirt can add 10-50 lbs. hell a ...

Hmm might want to redo that math lol. 50' of water in a 3' diameter casing. Not 3 inch. 3 feet. 36" lol. Yes it sucks

Re: Diesel PW Build Thread

Whats up with your well? Been running dry. First time in 40 years. And it's not recovering. It's a 60' deep 3' dia casing. Usually there is between 45-50' of water at all times. So usually we have about 2600gallons of water reserve. This has been a rough year. Ran dry 4 times now. So I've hauled al...

Re: Diesel PW Build Thread

Small update. Decided to change the grill up a bit. Paint hasn't been holding up and getting chipped and whatnot. So I pulled it and swapped in another. Put on different grill. Need to strip the paint off the bug deflector. The nose looks naked without it. Also been hauling water. 2900lbs really squ...

If it shook when you applied the brakes, it's probably the ABS kicking in. Washboard confuses the crap out of the ABS computer.
Nope. Was on gas pedal on flat road, brake pedal was shaking side to side.
It was just excited for its turn.

I ran it for 4 years in winter in my 5.7. And I ran 15-40 in the summers. No issues at all. No hemi tick. I run the same oil in all my trucks and equipment

Re: #BastardWagon Build

Got back my set of general grabbers from my dad who's been burning them off on his cummins now for a couple summers. I just wanted my rims back. Carli got some decent Carli parts to get started. Phase one will be a 2"ish carli kit using my old 7100s. This is just for testing of the drivetrain. Once ...

I'm really neutral about dor. I have their long bent arms. No issues with ordering. No issue with customer service. Product was excellent. Product was shipped exactly when I was told it would. Had to hit a corner of the plate with a grinder for just one bolt clearance (1/4"). Very happy. Yet everyon...

Dual dampeners will not be a solution. Tie rods and track bar are the most likely cause. Even the smallest amount of play can cause problems.

Whew!! Happy to hear you got them properly balanced. I argue with so many people about beads I gave up. Lots of shops try to do it but always say no.

There are some tires that just won't balance well at all

37" tires are not too big to spin balance. Lazy cheap shops will tell you that. One shop told me that years ago. I walked out and went somewhere else. Tires look good!

Re: Ridgid dual 18v compressor FYI

I had a chance to buy one for just over $100. I ended up not getting it thpugh. I have a few rigid batteries but they are only 3ah and they suggest 2 - 4ah batteries. I couldn't justify it. I ended up buying a bigger makita instead. If you have no other options though and have the batteries it's not...

I will see if I can get ahold of the guy that did my 06. Haven't talked to him in almost 10 years but you never know. I do know the used the starscan but they now are using a different system. Took him about an hour to figure out how to do it. We also disabled the drl and set the fogs to always on. ...

I found carli 3" coils on my truck were only 1.75" gain over stock. The Thuren's were just shy of the 3" advertised. I have another set of carli coils not installed that are 3". Who knows. Maybe they will be closer to 3" for someone and much farther for another. A lot of aftermarket parts seem to ac...

Re: Idle Up Feature for winching

This has been a Cummins feature for years, but not the Hemi. They advertised this as a feature on the Sterling Bullet with the Hemi and PTO package. This company sells a high idle controller for 2007 to current hemi applications. Yes since the 2007.5 model. But it was a dealer activatable flash in ...
