Re: 100% cure for death wobble

The most important jobs of a steering stabilizer are to damp the smallest initial movements, and to output a lot of force at a very low shaft speed to resist big jerks to the steering. Emulsion shocks like almost every Rancho, Bilstein, Fox, etc. do poor jobs of these because the mixed nitrogen in ...

Re: Air Lift Bags and Uptravel

I don’t remember the number, I believe it was about an inch less travel. You usually will have even less than that due to the rapid spring rate increase of bags as you compress them unless you have them fully collapsed at ride height. This is true. I run my bags at 0 psi most of the time, as they a...

Re: 100% cure for death wobble

Although I figured this out about 10 years ago... I figured I would share. Like many of you I was throwing parts at the problem. Finally broke down and took it to the dealership. The mechanic came back after 10 mins and said it was the steering stabilizer. I proceeded to argue with him that I just ...

According to the part numbers listed on the bds website, the front coils for the pw lift have the same part number as the front coils for the 5.5” normal 2500 gas and 4” 2500 diesel. 02EA08D5-1575-4BE9-A241-A839697BDA8E.png FEFF1224-6684-4950-9EEC-820A2BE438C7.png 41F6EDB8-8258-4CE9-A8F0-834E317BBBE...

people put on 35s, never hit the dirt and blow an "HD" 66rfe transmission.

FCA would gladly F themselves.
And they also go 100k+ miles being beat on with 37’s and 40’s. Whats your point?

Trans can blow in 100% stock form with no abuse at all. Shit happens. To all manufacturers.

Re: Air Lift Bags and Uptravel

Its not horrible. But I have no actual numbers to go by. Wish I would have pulled the cools and took measurements with the stock bumps and then the bags. But hey, thats what you can do for us when you do the install! Then post up the results here... http://forum.powerwagonregistry.org/viewtopic.php?...

The fan on my 16 would sometimes roar for a mile or so down the road after a cold start. No rhyme or reason to it and it would eventually stop.
Mine has done that many times before. However its been a while now that I think about it. Hmmm.

They are 4” over a pw. Im sure they are just the normal 2500 6” coils.

Re: 100% cure for death wobble

I have always been a believer that a steering damper does have its purpose, but curing death wobble is not one of them...but they can often mask it, however.

Well, I guess if they can mask/stop it, then its a win win regardless LOL.

My recommendation is to narrow it down to what type of tire you want; at, mt, hybrid etc. Then go from there. There is dozens in each category, from cheap to expensive and off brand to name brand.

Hmmmm. All comes down to what you are expecting out of your tires. Super Swamper Boggers are ideal for some...Michelin Defenders are ideal for others. And there is a lot in between.

What are you going to do with your tires?

Yea Im no expert, but I think I would either just use thurens white body shocks, or pony up for 2.5’s. Its not all that much more $ from the smaller non reservoir shocks, and Im sure the improvement is tenfold.

NICE!

Its good that the CAD can be left alone and “functional” as far as wiring/sensors go, that way the dash light should work as intended, correct?

I agree. From my understanding it is a package that you can add to many of the truck models. Unsure if there are any exclusions though (like longbox crew cabs, or the xl base model etc.).

Not exactly Power Wagon Flexing going on here.
No, but when there is over double the payload one should not expect it to.

Looks like a power wagon would have lifted tires going through that wash too.
