Transmission question
While on vacation I went up Wolf Creek Pass. Both west and east bound. The top of the pass is a little over 10,000 feet in elevation. My Wagon has pulled the trailer over passes a little higher than this. Anyway, going west bound I slowed down going through the tunnel which comes out to the ski reso...

Re: Gas Mileage towing 7 tons
I just finished my 2 week vacation with the family. We drove 2200 miles round trip. The truck, trailer, and cargo combined for roughly 14000 pounds. With 315s on the Wagon the average was 9 going up and down passes and elevation. Also had to deal with a lot of headwind.

Re: Octane at altitude and MPG on 6.4L
I live in Colorado and the difference between 87 and 91 is about 20 cents. Personally I have never run 85 in the Wagon. Always been 91 octane with a few occasions of 87 being put in. To me it feels like the 91 has more grunt for the Wagon than the 87 does at altitude. Plus I tow so that makes a diff...

Re: 2014+ Suspension/Lift Options = NOTHING
Yeah, I have Thuren front coils and stock rears with a replacement Fox Shock. I thought I would want to retain factory towing/payload, but now that I am interested in going off-road more, I am thinking of switching to his rear springs, track-bar for sure, and Kings at some point. Carli kit is super...

Re: 2014+ Suspension/Lift Options = NOTHING
The front coils for both Carli and Tauren will give our wagons 1 inch of lift. The rears for both don't give any lift. However, Carli's are based off of the diesel so the payload for our trucks would improve. Thurens would probably keep our payload the same. Maybe a slight improvement.

Re: Trans recall
I went to the website mentioned. Typed in my vin and nothing came up. I believe someone said it was a 2016-17 issue. Which makes sense since my vehicle was built in 2015, but sold as an early '16. Maybe they changed vendors in January?

Re: 2016 front locker engagement help
Initially my lockers would lock up rather quickly. Than they slowed down some. Especially the front locker. When it was time to drain the differentials I had the techs clean the magnets. The engagement was like new again. Now I lock them up every time I go to the property and I've not had one issue....

Re: DiabloSport Tuner with Intune I2 and new ECU
Very nice write up. I would consider doing this, but don't want to void my warranty as I have the lifetime. Keep us updated as I would be curious if things continue to improve or level off. I bet I have seen your truck around town a few times. Probably on woodmen.

Re: 2014-17 tire size consensus
I will say this. 315's, although they should have come stock on the newer trucks, still look small. Just not as bad as the 285's. 37's will fill the wheel wells much better. I won't get 37's because I tow a lot during the summer. Plus I don't want to regear to 4.88's or 5.13's. That's a :cash: thing...

Re: 2014-17 tire size consensus
I have a 2016 Laramie Power Wagon. Currently running Yokohamas in the 315/70-17 size with the stock wheels. Absolutely no rubbing while on road. Haven't noticed any rubbing off-road, but nothing hard core so far. The sway bar has not been disconnected yet with these tires. Zane Happy with the Yokoh...

Re: Laramie or New Style
A Laramie Power Wagon will not have a greater payload than an SLT Power Wagon. It will be slightly less. That said do you prefer splash or a sleeper look? The newer Wagon is splash. Older model is the sleeper in Laramie trim.

Re: 2017 Laramie Power Wagon
I wish they would have offered a Limited trim level Power Wagon. I'd have paid $5K more for real leather and burl wood. I like the interior of the Laramie but the vinyl dash and seat covers are nowhere close to the feel of the Limited or longhorn. At some point I'm going to recover my seats in 100%...

Re: 2017 Laramie Power Wagon
Don't get me wrong the new Wagon is nice. However, I still don't like the new grill. Being all black on the front reminds me of the Rebel. That said I like my sleeper Laramie. People think it is a lifted 2500 with a winch tucked in the bumper. Its not until I open the door and show them the floor s...

Re: Moab Comparison - Power Wagon vs Raptor vs Tacoma TRD
It is funny how this comparison keeps coming up. Back in 2010 or 11 and again in 2012 4Wheeler magazine did 2 comparisons between the Raptor and the Power Wagon. Both times the Power Wagon won hands down. Even in its stock form the PW held its own against the Raptor in the dunes. Then the Raptor was...

Re: Yokohama G015 315/70R17
Okay, now that I have had the tires on for a bit here is a review. Even though the tires have a wider footprint than the 285's I feel that they don't wander anymore than the 285's did. In fact it feels as though I am not moving the steering wheel nearly as much. Which means less fatigue on long trip...

Re: Yokohama G015 315/70R17
Apparently my other pictures are too big. Guess I'll have to shrink them somehow. Good to know that the 315 will fit in there. If I push my tire back and to the right it may just slide in. I checked the mounted height and mine come in at 34 inches tall.

Here are the pictures.
This one shows how close the tire comes to the back of the wheel we'll. You could put chains on.
