Re: Power Wagon's and Airstreams?

While I have no reason to contradict your rant I do have a problem with your conclusion. The balance issue is a mute point at the said weight limits! Maybe if we were discussing a Cummins 2500 but gas 2500's have 800+ less pounds over the front axle. Our trucks have less braking pressure on the fro...

Re: Power Wagon vs. Rebel... Sibling rivalries???

Besides a used Unimog, where would you go to get any of that in a full size truck? You seem confused, to put it kindly. No, I have a plan. The PW should have fit into it. I dislike explaining it because folks on Dodge forums usually get all squirrelly when Mercedes rigs come up. I will sell the PW ...

But it won't be because they added the 6'4 bed to the crew cabs for the 2013 and later model year. Although if it is a quad cab you will be golden.

Re: Why a PW doesn't have a CTD option via RAM

Does anyone know if the front axle for a Ram 3500 CTD/Aisin is the same as the front axle for a Ram 2500 Power Wagon? It seems like the front axle for the 2500 Power Wagon is a bit on the "marginal" side in regards to strength. Put that axle in a truck with 900 ft lbs of torque instead of 430 ft lb...

Re: A few specific towing questions.

I had an 11 1500 with the 5.7 and thought it felt gutless. The 6.4 feels much more like my 8.1 Chevy buy with a bit more on top. The 1500 was geared tall despite being a work truck. I just towed with my 2500 for the first time this last weekend and it made me miss towing with my 1500. The 8 speed i...

Re: Couple more news questions

So if these are "snow plow mounts", would are trucks be snow plow ready? According to NADA being snow plow ready adds couple thousand to trade in value. hmmm The snow plow prep package adds $300 to the MSRP if I remember right. It is just a bigger alternator and a t case skid plate. Just ran the in...

I bought these for the exact same reason. I have the molded ones on my wife's grand cherokee and i have almost ripped them off in deep snow so I wanted something flexible that can handle that.

Re: 4.88

One small change, the pcm unlock is only required on 15 and newer trucks. If you have a 14 you are fine with just a tuner. If you do go that route when I changed mine it always said it failed but it actually did correct it. It even stayed corrected after I pulled my tuner off. So what's your opinio...

Re: Bullydog unlock?

i had originally purchased the bullydog 40430 hemi gt tuner and the tunes were so so. I upgraded to the bullydog 40417 tuner which allows for custom tuning. Bought it off Hemifever with his 91 octane tune, which I find really woke up the hemi. Stuck with bullydog for the special features. But when ...

Re: 4.88

The speedometer operates off the VSS which sends a signal via the ABS module to the PCM to your RFH to your instrument cluster. Thus, changing gears w/o changing stock tire size will NOT change your speedo, but will affect your transmission shift points since the new gears will raise your standing ...

It wasn't the 10.5 it was the front. He was trying to snatch an buried f350 diesel out of the water/mud in reverse. I've always been told that's the absolute worst thing you can do to your front end and transmission. I don't think the ring gear liked being shock loaded on the coast side, still I'm ...

Also, is there a tuner of some sort out yet to get the speedo back to reading correct (assuming that you are not evening it back out with larger tires right off the bat)? I'm interested if you still have it. I just need to do some more research as I've read some horror stories. I just changed my thresholds Friday with no problem? Not sure why the dealer couldn't do it? Maybe they fixed it then. I'm not sure I can say on a power wagon forum... I pre-ordered a tesla model 3. I can't justify getting 12 miles per gallon for no reason anymore. It does leave me with 2 years or so left with my truck though.
