I bought these for the exact same reason. I have the molded ones on my wife's grand cherokee and i have almost ripped them off in deep snow so I wanted something flexible that can handle that.

One small change, the pcm unlock is only required on 15 and newer trucks. If you have a 14 you are fine with just a tuner.
