Re: Supercharger,Top end work or upgraded Engine?

Just a cam and good tuning would get you the 50 ft lbs. I know for my 06, I'm looking at trick heads, throttle body, cam, exhaust, and custom tuning at a $7000 budget. That will put it at 400-425 hp at the wheels. For the altitude you're talking..... Supercharger! I would just try the cam (one that ...

Re: 2 More Wins for the Wagon

Cold air intake, Diablo, but muffler out. Just simple things.

On the verge of spending on money for a major build on it........ but it's just to nice of a truck to leave it set in the shop between pulls.

feeler WTB Regular cab 6spd

Thinking of selling my quad cab and replacing it with a regular cab. Just seeing if anyone has one that they are on the edge of selling. Must be a 6spd!! Interior doesn't matter. Miles doesn't matter either, since motor and trans will be rebuilt. Just as long as body is in good condition. 80% of the...

An 06 quad cab with no winch, no skid plates, no rear bumper, no tailgate, no bed mat, no rear seat, pulling hitch, traction bars, and 5 gallons of gas in it. 6200lbs with me in it.

After posting that, seems like alot of work to go 300'!!!! LOL

2 More Wins for the Wagon

Sled pulled in Columbia City, IN on Monday. Finished 1st in street stock gas by 13ft. and 1st in Modified Gas by 9ft. Was a good night!! 2nd place in stock was a 2gen ram with a V10 out of a high performance Viper. 3rd was a modified Chevy small block. 4th (and 2nd in mod) was a HEMI with head work,...

Re: Sled Pulls

Well our trucks are putting down less than 300hp at the rear wheels. Clutch and trans can handle that with a half smart driver. Rear axle is good to about 500hp. And the front is surviving in 1000hp 2.6 trucks. A decent setup, and the truck will last for awhile. Mine is on the 3rd season on stock ev...

Sled Pulls

Just to give a heads up for those in the Northwest Ohio, South Michigan, Northeast Indiana. There is a Dirt drag race/tug a truck on Friday the 20th and Sled pull on Saturday, the 21st. In Hicksville, Ohio. Theballsummerfest.org for more info.

Thanks,
Shaw

Re: New Guy

Thanks guys. I'll be moving to Hill AFB Utah next spring and I'm planning on heading to Moab to see what the truck can do!! Between the Cooper S/T, BFG KM2, and Toyo MT, which one does good for all around driving and wintery conditions? KM2's are terrible!!! I would look at the toyo MT. I'm running...

Re: New Member

Welcome, Jason! I'm looking forward to seeing pica and videos, too! Ans I agree with Russ, pulling is a different way to use the PW. Interesting. And you mentioned that you are aiming for 850 at the wheels with your twin turbo Cummins, and still be able to tow. I didn't realize going up in performan...

Re: Power Wagon at the truck pull

With STS's. They seem to work for trucks over 500hp and over at the wheels. My truck put down 258 at the wheels. I would not even consider those tires, unless they have 10-20% tread.

Re: Power Wagon at the truck pull

Thanks for the reply's on the pull. I ended up putting 15-16ft on the class. A good friend of mine got 2nd (299') with a 2003 2500 HEMI (with head work, cam, and custom tuning). At that pull, the track was less than ideal. Motor only got up to 5500 RPMs. I usually hit 6200-6500. I do not have the fr...

Re: Power Wagon at the truck pull

Next time I pull (when I can get some smaller tires) I'm gonna pull in 3rd or 4th and low range. Less strain on the transfer case. I mean we're talking about 50-60,000 pounds behind our trucks. That's a ton of weight. In 3rd you'll never get up into the RPM's enough to make any power. In 4th, you'l...

Re: Power Wagon at the truck pull

OUTSTANDING JOB !!!! Has anybody pulled in 4 Lo, 1st gear ? I hear this all the time "Lo range 1st gear is too low, you need ground speed", when i pull with my atv, yet i have not lost any of the 3 i have entered. I took a trophy home in all 3. My atv is geared like my truck, REALLY low. I...

Never pulled in 4 low and first gear. I know that gear is way to slow!!! I tried 2nd a couple times, and that was still too slow.

Re: Power Wagon at the truck pull

With the Diablo. You need to raise the rev limiter in "neutral". Adjusting the rev limiter in "gear" won't change the rev limiter. Back to your question. I run in 4HI in the transfer case, and LO (or 1st) in the trans. Last year, I was at a pull that was allowing double entries for the classes. So ...

I just wanted to say HI! My name is Jason. I'm from Northwest Ohio. I have a 1974 and a 2006 Powerwagon. My 74 was purchased new on July 6, 1974 by my great uncle. I purchased it from him when I was 15 and did a complete restore on it. A couple years ago, I decided to build the 360 into a pulling mo...

Re: Power Wagon at the truck pull

Nice job sir!!!

The perfect gear is 4hi and in LO. I've pulled mine for the past 3 years and have done very well with it.

If you throw a tuner on it and raise the rev limiter to 6500 and you'll be hard to stop in a street stock class.
