Re: Like to drive them, don't know crap about them. Help me
Alright, here's my .02. Call Carli and talk to them about what you want to do with your truck - believe me, they'll build you a list of parts to get you right where you want to be. Call High Country Performance ( http://hcp4x4.com ), they're a Carli dealer and only about 10 hrs from you, if my guess...

Re: Like to drive them, don't know crap about them. Help me
If I were going to do this, I'd look into Carli or Thuren parts, Dodge Off Road has some serious suspension parts, too. With the wheel and tire you're considering, you don't need much lift at all (leveling would do it), but for the purpose of bombing through things at high-speed you need the lift in...

Out of curiosity, do you have a number in mind for the rims and tires and just the rims?

The only annoying thing that mine does is the volume knob not consistently working. The steering wheel controls work just fine though, so it's not so bad.

I am a pretty tall guy (6'-7") so I don't really need one but the Mrs. is 5'-5" so we use a small step ladder with 2 steps to make it easy for her to get in and out of.adeluca73 wrote:Do you use a ladder or stool to climb in & out?

Awesome awesome --thanks so much for the info. You've really helped me out here. I was struggling between going with another Leer topper or the Diamondback HD. This tent solves why I'd consider another Leer & I can go with what I really want, the Diamondback HD, which I can remove when it's time to...

I like it! I've been trying to decide between 1" and 1.5" leveling for my 3g. The bonus of the plush ride may sway me to go with the daystar kit!

Re: fan clutch noise
I consider the spring tensioners to be mostly the same (bearing quality would be the biggest variable). The pullys seem to have a history of bearing failure, usually at the least opportune time. Although they are fairly cheap, available just about everywhere, and are not too hard to replace, they u...

Hmmm, does that truck bed tent scratch the shit out of your paint in the wind? It's something to consider, but if I load up a whole bunch of firewood and other materials, that means that I would have to take all that crap out and clean out the bed, just so I can go to sleep. But, the price savings ...

Re: fan clutch noise
Speaking of belt tensioners and pullys, does anybody make a high quality superior replacement other than OEM or off the shelf parts store kind ? Maybe something that a High Performance Hemi builder would use. Hey Cruz... I'm not sure. To be quite honest, there wouldn't be much that was special abou...

Re: fan clutch noise
So, did your truck have the dual fan setup? My 2013 has an electric fan in front of the clutch driven fan. Without looking into the wiring diagram I assume the electric fan is primarily for the A/C, but it comes on for engine cooling as well. My clutch driven fan only comes on when it's really hot ...

Here are some quick pictures. I used to do a lot of these kind of projects and Installs when I worked on race cars but this was super easy. Re: Any ideas before I put this thing up for sale?
I agree with 06. I tried to us Sean when I put in the cam and he did a decent job of getting the truck to run on an initial tune, but didn't seem interested in performance revisions or trying to fix the tune quirks I had. I switched to White Lightening (David Amalong) and he has been great and his ...

Re: fan clutch noise
I put the Black Magic on mine (ordered through Amazon), and love it. If you're having any trouble with your stock fan, I'd recommend replacing it with the Black Magic 183. I also got the (way too expensive for what it is) illuminated switch so that I could turn it on at 100% (towing, crawling, etc.)...

Re: Stickman's Daily Driver/Weekend Warrior Power Wagon Buil
Looking forward to hearing from you, Stickman. If it were me making the decision on the bumpers, my biggest considerations would be how long I thought it would be until I went aftermarket, and what I thought that I could get for my stock parts (if you plan to sell em) with and without the LineX or p...

Thanks for the heads-up. I've got a couple of tools that I need to go in for replacement (and the ratchets rebuilt). This might be a good time to snag some of the tools that I've been eyeing. This is as good of an excuse as any to buy some more tools. I can hear it now... "Honey, I had to get them n...

Damn... I wish I lived further out West! In the Midwest there's nothing that great within a 8 hour drive of here.
If it wouldn't take 30 hours to get there, I'd be happy to get out almost any weekend. Makes me miss living in OC.

Re: Stickman's Daily Driver/Weekend Warrior Power Wagon Buil
The cradles are the way to go. Best advice I can give when it comes to air bags, don't combine supply tubes into one input/output. I made that mistake, thinking I'd rather have one valve to put air in, and take air out of (plus they'd get equal pressure). That was a bad idea and lead to some serious...
