Re: Decisions
New suspension. It gives more flex and a better ride, but does nothing for wheel hop issue. CAD. :thppt: 6.4 is nice, but takes expensive oil. 11.5" rear end, but only 4:10 gears. What is wrong with CAD? Unnecessary disconnect in the axle that ads cost, complexity but not strength in order to give ...

Re: Decisions
If it weren't for the color (black) I don't think I would even consider going from the 13 to the 16 If the color is that big of a deal then just do it. You will probably get better mpg with the '16 if that is any consolation. Otherwise I suspect that in most daily driving you aren't going to notice...

How can you live in traffic like that!! This is my daily commuter road. I don't, that is heading north out of San Diego last fall after my sons Marine boot camp graduation. My daily drives look more like this... http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/bb414/Mountainman523/IMG_1135.jpg Summer weekends i...

Re: Towing Question / Impression
The 6.4 trucks get the 4.10 gears and MDS that shuts down half the cylinders. Mine will get 17 hwy when empty and it doesn't care if you are doing 70-80mph. My mixed driving in the summer nets me a 15 mpg average. No city around here mostly 60 mph two lanes through the mountains. Winter had me down...

Re: Locker Bypass 2015
If you engage the lockers while spinning the tires at 20 mph in the mud you will almost certainly break something. They should only be engaged at a crawl. Once locked in you can let the fur fly but I would advise against under power engagements.

Re: school me on load ranges please
Ply rating... This does NOT tell you how many layers are in a tire carcass or how stiff that carcass is going to be. It is a left over designation from the bias ply tires days when they actually did have those number of layers. C,D and E rated tires have the same weight capacity in the same range an...

Re: New 2016 Power Wagon owner!
Thanks for the warm welcome! I do have a quick question, i've noticed at low speeds in 2wh that sometimes the vehicle wants to kind of hesitate under light/partial throttle. I've been chalking it up to the MDS system but last night going up my driveway about 5 mph it was to the point where I had to...

Re: Snowmobiling, 2015-16 Edition
Aftermarket is the answer for the front end. Either you get insanely weak aluminum arms like mine, or sturdy but wide steel versions on the Assault. I think I may go with the 37" K-Mod front end on mine when the budget allows.

So that makes three at least that have had throttle control taken away. I suppose that isn't good enough for you though, it has to be EXACTLY like I describe????????? When I take it in for the non functioning cruise control I will make the complaint about the electronic interference. $1000 says it c...

So why do we panic earlier now? The fluids are better, better materials, better engineering, it should be less of a problem if anything.

Did you read this one on the first page? Negative: Model year: 2016 Vehicle settings: 4HI, traction control on Scenario: Trying to climb a very minor incline in 10" deep snow. Traction control notes tire spin and cuts throttle to the engine, slowing down the trucks momentum that would have easily ta...

There should be no warning @176 for a transmission. I have my Areoforce gauge set to alert me at 200 and even that is not too hot. I think the factory idiot light for the transmission in my 3G sets off at 220. Your water temp is a bit high but not overheating yet. Something odd is going on for sure...

Re: Real life tales of the electro-nanny
I find it odd that so many people are having problems with applying gas whilst simultaneously applying the brake. I do it quite often (brake throttle modulation, two foot driving, whatever you'd like to say) with great results! (allows for climbing challenging obstacles without having to wait for l...

Re: Real life tales of the electro-nanny
To exit manual shifting from any gear just push and hold the + button for a couple seconds and it will switch back to regular auto. Just be aware that it works BOTH ways. If you hold the - button too long it will have you tight against your seatbelt in first gear. I also find the buttons require ju...

My go to pressures on the stock wheels and tires are 50 fr / 45 rr on the road unloaded or lightly loaded. My 2016 SLT, with stock tires and wheels, has a tire placard, on the door, that says 60 lbs front and 65 lbs rear is the correct pressure? The sticker on the door also tells you the truck can ...

Re: Couple more N00b questions
My go to pressures on the stock wheels and tires are 50 fr / 45 rr on the road unloaded or lightly loaded. On the rocky trails we have here, no mud or sand to speak of, I run 25 fr and 20 rr. This improves the ride and contact patch without giving up much clearance. The truck really needs 35's to he...

I did the first two changes at 5000 and then 10,000 miles. I am now going to run with the oil life monitor which I think ends up at around 8000 miles on a change. I have been using M1 euro 0w-40 which is easy to find and a good oil. I am not concerned about the fabricated MS spec they came up with t...

My boss loves his Toyotas. He has been running them since 1983. He has two right now an 05 CC V6 manual and a 2013 version of the same. I do not see that they last any better than other trucks anymore. His '05 required a front end rebuild at the same time as my '06 Dodge. The steering feel sucks, th...

Re: Couple of technical questions from a potential PW owner
You can improve approach and departure with bumpers, less so in the rear but I have never drug the rear bumper. I have however had it high centered.... The truck desperately needs 35's, I think a little level in front and 37s might be the ideal set up.

I have had my truck stuck several times (no way they say not a PW) in 2wd, 4wdhi, 4wdlo, all locked, one locked. if that traction control light is on in my dash I can spin all day long, turning each way full lock or not and my truck digs and digs and digs just like my mud truck does with a carburet...
