Re: Rear locker working again......replaced!!

Had my rear diff rebuilt a few months ago... new bearings, gears, and a new actuator. Light doesn't blink on the dash anymore, and the lockers acutally work now. (not that I ever use them...)

Re: Hi lift jack ideas

A good checklist and pre-trip inspection goes a long ways! (Going through a checklist for the moto for a ride tomorrow... helmet, gloves, boots, radio(s), camelbak, FAK... batteries charged? Oil change good? Bike fuel'd? Coolant check'd? I forget a lot of things, but I don't "forget things" with a c...

Bumper or lower, especially in snow. Any higher than that and the "star wars effect" makes the lights virtually useless.

Re: Sway and oscillation

Sounds more like a trailer loading issue to me. What's the tongue weight of the trailer? How many axles? Gross weight? Trailer level when hitched? Dynamic load (Horses moving around in there)? Too much weight to the back of the trailer, "tail wags the dog" and truck+trailer ends up in the ditch. Too...

Re: Rearview Mirror glue

Did the Permatex kit again. The past few times I've done a fairly thorough surface prep... scrape the remaining glue from glass and button with a razor, wipe clean with carb spray, let it dry, wipe with alcohol, let it dry, do the prep/activator wipe, buff that, apply adhesive, tape button to window...

Re: Best Drop Hitch (w/ball)

The Curt ones stick out a little further, allowing me to drop the tailgate with the trailer hitched.
The Reese hitches are a little too short, and pulls the trailer into the truck enough that the tailgate won't fully open.

Re: fuel sensor

Yup. My usual shop unbolts the bed and slides it over a bit to get to the pump.
Other shops will drop the fuel tank out of the truck to replace the truck.
Shitty shops will wreck the fuel tank in the process.

Re: 12v Constant on Trailer Plug?

yeah, that one's always-on. Fords put that pin on a relay so it's only on with ignition. I ended up putting a switch in my trailer to connect/disconnect that pin to the trailer. Lets me isolate the truck so I don't kill its battery with the furnace/lights, but I can still charge the batt on the way ...

Could also be the locker actuator(s). Replaced mine with the rear diff and internals/brgs and I was able to get that operational.

Got jacks/lift? It'd be pretty easy to diagnose the t-case if you can get teh wheels off the ground.
What's the transmission fluid look like?

No codes? Wonder if it's a trans solenoid.
