Re: New control arms and tires!!

I used the lift to make it easier to get to the bolts. Once loosened, I'd lower the truck to get the arms in and move the axle.

Re: New control arms and tires!!

I didn't use the lift too much. With the truck off the lift, and the tires on, once you get the upper and lower arms off on one side, it's pretty easy to roll the wheel, which in turn moves the axle in/out.

Plus, the entire backside seal blew out from the hub assembly on the driver side! Top left hub in the last picture.

Re: 2012 PW front wheel hub replacement

Yeah, I saw that. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but I did not want to risk getting any shavings from the tap getting into the bearing. I got both hubs for $324 and some change shipped within a week to my door. For me it was worth $300 to just replace both and have peace of mind for the next 50K+...

Re: New control arms and tires!!

So today did not go as planned. It was one of those days where nothing went right. So, what happened was... I went to my auto hobby shop to rent a stall and do all the work. I was only able to get my control arms in today. I started to take pictures of each step, but just as soon as I started, I ran...

Re: 2012 PW front wheel hub replacement

Last year I was really hard on my PW. Multiple hunts, out where no one was and countless 4wheeling trips. Super bumpy dirt roads, both already there and some I made. And the mud.....the mud here in New Mexico is super slick and sticks to everything. Not to mention it's a total drag to clean off. My ...

Re: 2012 PW front wheel hub replacement

Next, apply some anti-seize. IMAG0081.jpg The wheel hubs I used IMAG0082 copy.jpg Now the install is basically in reverse order. Make sure you torque the bolt to the correct specs. 149 ft/lbs for the hub bolts and 263 ft/lbs for the axle nut. dont forget to replace the cotter pin in the axle nut as ...

2012 PW front wheel hub replacement

Hi all. New to the forum, membership wise, but have searched it for the last 2 years from time to time. So the hub on my 2012 PW went out 2 weeks ago with a bang! Complete failure. Having searched the forum and the interwebs for info/pics, I decided to post a simple step by step process for anyone w...
