Re: Ignition sense ?
I tapped into he fused side of the fuse, so I am relying on the fuse itself. It's a 20A fuse so it should easily be able to drive a relay.

Re: Ignition sense ?
I ended up tapping into F93 (fuse for one of the cigar lighter outlets, which are ignition switched)
All now seems to work well

Re: Ignition sense ?
Ha, google is my friend
I have discovered the miracle which is fuse taps.
Sounds like all I need to do is tap into one of the cigar lighter fuses and be done with it

Ignition sense ?
Hi everyone, I am working on installing a relay in the circuit which charges my extra battery and runs my radios, compressor etc. The goal is to only power that circuit when ignition is on, and have the circuit be NOT powered when the truck is off in order to limit / prevent drain of the trucks main...

Re: What's your upgrade?
If you are looking for an onboard air compressor then I'd suggest the ARB dual motor / dual cylinder 13 volt compressor. It produces 90 PSI and is a 100% duty cycle compressor.

Mine does the same in super tight turns. I'm not worried about it. It steers real well otherwise.

Re: Diesel Power Wagon... Again..
The production numbers for the PW are far too small for FCA to spend the money it would take to make a diesel PW

Re: 6.4L Break In
My 6.4 always had a "tick", I will probably try using amsoil at next oil change. The "tick" I'm hearing is something I've heard in engine sound recordings of other guys' trucks

That's a nice DMR radio right there!!!
I've become a *big* fan of DMR. Also can't help but enjoy Motorola's radios.....

Re: Trans recall
Checked my '16 and nothing came up. No safety recalls and no campaigns.
Seems likely to me that the issue is affecting a subset of 2017-2017 trucks

Re: Trail radios.......
I think I'm going to go ahead and get my technician license however and probably pick up a dual band radio. I think that's a great idea. If nothing else, it seems to me that there are a LOT more ham's than GMRS users. So, if that's true, it would seem much more likely that you'd be able to reach so...

Re: Trail radios.......
Yep!
Now, if only it was possible to get a vanity call sign for GMRS.... The call signs they issue are damn near "unspeakable" and really hard to remember. I was issued WQZC486. Try saying THAT quickly, LOL!!!

Re: Trail radios.......
There are new rules & regulations coming for both FRS and GMRS radio services.
As I recall, FRS radios will be allowed to run more power (2 watts as compared to the current 0.5 watts) while GMRS radios get more channels to operate on

Let me know what your thoughts are about the decent from Top of the world, assuming you are going "counter clockwise" on the loop part of the trail

Re: Limitations of the '16 PW when off-roading
Would the weight REALLY matter if it was only used offroad ? I know there would be problems running @ 70 if it was really heavy. Kinda like tires. No need to have them balanced if they are for off road only & used at low speed trail runs. Give a local driveshaft maker a call. Good point... I was im...

Re: Limitations of the '16 PW when off-roading
Just build or have someone build you a more HD driveshaft, or 2, so you have a spare. Or just have 1 really HD one built just for wheeling. It only takes about 10 minutes or less to take the rear d-shaft off. Just a suggestion. ...not a bad idea actually..... Are there *any* downsides to this, outs...

Re: Limitations of the '16 PW when off-roading
Hey buddy, this certainly does wheel a lot different than your old rig ( I can't think of too many other people who have piloted both an H1 and a power wagon on the same trails [emoji6]), so I know where you are coming from. I too get the "drop your brake peddle to the floor when in 4-low" in my tr...

Re: Limitations of the '16 PW when off-roading
Hi guys, My recent time in Moab has made we ponder what, if anything, I might want to mod on my truck. For now, these are just thoughts based on what I saw, did and experienced. I haven't yet decided whether I actually want to go down the route of trying to make the truck more trail capable, or whe...

Re: Limitations of the '16 PW when off-roading
I agree with you 100%. They need lower gearing both in the axles & in the transmission &/or at least the transfer case. It would be so awesome if they came out with a 3 range t-case. The ability to use all 3 ranges in 2wd would be icing on the cake. I know it will never happen though. As I hear all...
