Re: Truck died after hill climbing

Did you roll back while in drive? If so, that's your answer. The tranny sensors will shut off the engine. I was very surprised the first time it happened, and it was repeatable when I tested it. Re: Portable Air Compressor

My ViAir 400P has been heavily used since 2004, great little pump. It gets very hot, but frequently airs up my truck and another vehicle too. The JKUR uses a MV-50 that we used in our '05 Taco too. It's been used less frequently, about once a month for almost eight years. And the price is way better...

Re: The Cactus Red mod thread.

Replaced the well worn Bilstien steering stabilizer today. Since the Fox shocks are doing so well, decided to use their stabilizer too. It was an easy installation. It's hard to say how the two units would compare when new, but as is, the Fox is way stiffer than the Bilstien.

Re: Rear hop between 45 and 50 mph, anyone else?

Stock shocks, Bilstien 5100, Fox Remotes. Same same. Road Force balance, same, same. I do have a bent rim. Run-out is 0.018. I feel that rim all the time it's used on the truck, regardless of front or rear, and at all speeds. Had rear brakes done a short time ago. Rotors were turned on the truck - s...

5 sets of tires in 90k, 5 different brands, 5 tires in rotation, same shake regardless. It's not tires.

I've had that since day one. It's not tires, and it goes away after a few miles of driving.

Re: Power Wagon's and Airstreams?

That makes our MiniLite 2109S look a bit poorly... Nice setup!

Air bags are another option to level up when towing. I'm at 8k to start with, so with the trailer hitched up, the back sags another 3" or so. 25 psi cures that and is a lot easier to do than a weight distributing hitch.

Re: RTIC Coolers

I'm kinda partial to ARB fridges. I bought both of ours used at $500.00 each. The Yeyi style coolers are great, but ice takes up an enormous amount of space, even if it does last for days.

Yup, one side at a time is the easiest, and I used a come along instead of a strap.

Re: Winching and Recovery 101

Thanks - that's a good video. I've only seen it done with 5 pulleys - three is much easier. I have three in the truck as is - need to get another for the JKUR so it's up to snuf.

Awesome!

Time to do some tri-tip or brisket, and get that smoker broke in.

Re: New power wagon how long to wait before adding power add

There is a programmed break-in period of roughly 5000 miles. Until then, I'd leave it alone. It's a noticeable increase in power an economy.

An OBDLink MX Bluetooth adapter and Torque Pro on my Droid Turbo 2 are what I use to monitor tranny/coolant temps when towing.

Great info!

In my case there were no codes I could read with either my tuner or Bluetooth OBD2 reader.

I'll ask, but I doubt they know. Parts changer's plug in, replace what it tells'm to, and that's that.

Re: Locker lights...

Dropped off the truck this AM, they found the dumbar is bad. So, of course, that's two weeks out...

So, they will do the other work I'd requested (90,000 service) and I'll have to take it back when it comes in.

Re: Locker lights...

Finally got around to pulling off the covers again. Had it up on jack stands so I could test it. No movement in the locker at all. Buttoned it back up, and removed the bypass wiring. Will get it scheduled for service. It's due for the 90000 service, and has a blown tweeter as well.

Re: Airaid Intake?

The dry synthamax filter is awesome. Zero dust in the tube, unlike the oiled K&N that didn't filter the fine dust. That's good to know I was leaning toward the dry filter but read that Airaid recommends the oil filter if in heavy dust conditions and the dirt roads I travel are extremely dusty. What...

Height is measured on a specific width rim. Wide rims equal shorter tires, If you took at the specs, our rims are at the wider end of the recommended numbers.

Dealers here won't even consider changing TPMS. I've tried 3 in the last 6 years.
