Re: 09 locker bypass

It's just the resistor and toggle switch. Had to pull it prior to the current service work to fix the lockers, and won't be putting it back in. Honestly it's the one mod I used the least. The resistor type bypass does allow you to use the lockers in 2hi/4hi, but the truck thinks it"s in 4lo, so the ...

Re: Chrysler Extended warranty

It's worth every penny to me. Of course I got mine at a large savings when we dickered on the truck - in essence it was a throw in on the deal. No problems with coverage at two different dealers here, even with the mods done to the truck. Biggest thing is how long you plan on keeping the truck. I pl...

I've gone as low as 8 in silt. It's phenomenal what that does for floatation. I'd buried the truck to the sliders at 15 PSI, and was able to drive it out by rocking it back and forth a few times. Thanks for the info! It"s covered under the drive train warranty. I think they do crap like this to charge a butt load to the warranty. When it's all done, they will have nearly 4K in parts alone. Three weeks into the repairs, they replaced the Dumbar, and that didn't fix it. So they have ordered a new wiring harness. I told them it was probably the rear actuator - I suspect they will get to it sooner or later. Socialism: A stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism an...

Re: Does a Fox ir Carli steering stabilizer make much differ

For me, the Fox stabilizer has helped mask the worn components in the system. It firmed up the steering quite nicely. At 90K, it shows wear on the second set of poly control arm bushing, the track bar, and ball joints (again). Socialism: A stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capi...

Well, it's now three weeks into repairing the lockers. After ordering a new Dumbar (two weeks to get it) they replaced it with no result. Next they say it's the wiring harness. Nuther wait to get that in, should arrive next week. Asked if they looked at the actuator in the rear diff, answer in a bla...

Re: Wagon was at dealer for recall fix, So I test drove a 20

My loaner for service is a brand new 2500 CTD megacab long bed. That's been an eye opener. Gotta be over 160" in wheelbase. First time I"ve driven a new CTD - it's a monster... Re: Hypothetical build dream/budget

Crap, you could blow the entire 10K in suspension alone if you really want to go fast. Stock shocks/ springs won't do it well at all. I went through a similar scenario back in 1999 to 2001. Decided to build a trail rig using an 87' yota P/U. Go fast or go slow were my options. 16K later, I could go ...

I'm in favor of the $100.00 option. They have replaced 3 sets, soon to be 4 at that price on my truck in 90K.

Two ARB 47L in AZ heat required more power than a 120W solar panel @ 5.8A output. We had to run the truck in the evening to top off the G31 Sears DieHard AGM battery. My ViAir 400P has been heavily used since 2004, great little pump. It gets very hot, but frequently airs up my truck and another vehicle too. The JKUR uses a MV-50 that we used in our '05 Taco too. It's been used less frequently, about once a month for almost eight years. And the price is way better...

Replaced the well worn Bilstien steering stabilizer today. Since the Fox shocks are doing so well, decided to use their stabilizer too. It was an easy installation. It's hard to say how the two units would compare when new, but as is, the Fox is way stiffer than the Bilstien.

Stock shocks, Bilstien 5100, Fox Remotes. Same same. Road Force balance, same, same. I do have a bent rim. Run-out is 0.018. I feel that rim all the time it's used on the truck, regardless of front or rear, and at all speeds. Had rear brakes done a short time ago. Rotors were turned on the truck - s...
