Re: Cable comes off drum

I didn't, but I had never used the steel cable. Synthetic line was about the first thing I did to the truck as soon as I got it home.

Re: Powerwagon's best model year 2005-2020?

On the newer PW's. Wheelbase is 9" too long. The hood blocks some of the view. Too many computer nannies. 4.10 gears. The front suspension. The rear suspension. The only things I like about them is the motor, 8 speed tranny, and the opening of the fenders. The hood is like looking over a cliff. From...

Re: Power Wagons in Moab 2020 - May 4th - May 8th - Registration Open

They got hit in 2018 by the BLM (at the last minute) over not being properly registered so, which requires you have an insurance policy, etc. A many thousand dollar last minute charge that wasn't budgeted. Which is why it was officially cancelled in 2018, it was just a bunch of people driving around...

They will inspect it, if it is bad thry will replace it with a new one and they will weld the nuts, at least that is what they did on mine.

Re: The "Real Reliability"

If someone gets "10 to 30 flat tires" on a set, then maybe its not just the tires that are at issue - there's obviously more going on... I'll be sure to bitch and post up here when I get my first flat  And Ford hasn't been paying attention to our Forum either - they're putting those...

Re: The "Real Reliability"

Other than the duratrash, I’ve had none of those. But i probably have not driven 20% of what ylu have. My inherent cheapness has me taking the 30mpg car over the 10mpg truck most of the time when its a choice.

Re: 37s with overland extreme questions

Do it man...37 x 13.5. I just switched from 35 x 12.5. The 35s feel big at first and then quickly they start feeling small on these wagons. 17" x 9" x +18mm or +20mm offset will be great. As far as fender trimming, check out my post on here for trimming on a 4th gen without butchering the inner fen...

My dad’s description of NYC parallel parking: Back up until you hear glass break, then pull forward until you stop.

Re: Tire questions

What is the life expectancy of the Toyo MT’s? Anybody have experience with duratracs in load range E size 35? I’m also open to other suggestions for long lasting all terrain or mud terrains. Wear is mostly what I’m concerned about since most of my driving is highway. I destroyed one duratrac and go...

Re: Can you program air condition functions?

Yeah which seems like a nice feature except when you start texting the the air is going on and off repeatedly when all I want is to be cool. The texting is a whole other problem, I have a 12" dispaly but can only send a text that says, yes, no, maybe. So its useless and I need to pull my phone out ...

Re: Gears?

Did you reprogram for tire size, or have the dealer do it? If not you should try that first. That will adjust some things in terms of shift points and such that might greatly improve your experience. And it’s like an hour of non-warranty service at the dealer. You can also buy alfaobd, the Bluetooth...

Re: Facebook Group & Forum - Tire Popularity Poll

They won’t hold up to off-road use on power wagons. Heck, they don’t hold up to dirt roads on power wagons. Good traction, didn’t have any complaints on that part. So with a 4000 point truck they are probably fine. I have a full set of low mileage if anyone is around abq.

The high end stuff is amazing. But the few hundred doable stuff isn’t bad.

But I can’t give recommendations as I just watch people do this, not do it myself.

Re: New truck, new nanny to hate.

I have one of those bypass cables. It sucks. There are no directions and it implies you should connect it to two different jumper blocks, one of which doesn’t exist in a 2018 power wagon. Complexly worthless. Just throw a couple of $20s out the window, it’s a lot less frustrating. I got mine from s...

You cant get one with the cummins.
There is suspicion that they have a newer diesel that will fit available in a year or two. We’ll see.
