Re: WK Sliders - To diamond plate or not?

I scraped the hell out of the bottom and lower outer edges without needing them to be wider. But an interesting option I guess I missed.

Re: WTB 2017 and up Wheels

I got shipped a complete door on a pallet by OTR truck. It was $150 from Indiana and took a week to arrive. I doubt your stuff would be that heavy or large.

Re: WK Sliders - To diamond plate or not?

I’ve just got the standard diamond plate. Didn’t know there were options. Not sure I’d have taken it, as that puts the truck weight on the small SS screws that fasten the plate to the slider. This seems likely to end badly. It it’s pushing the DOM tube out that wouldn’t be so bad, but it still incre...

The outer edge of them is the round dom tubing.
Unless you are very short that isn’t where you put your foot. Your foot touches the outer edge of the plate, then you rotate the foot to flat on the plate as you get into the truck.

So new door is on. About 3 hours including swapping the door panel etc. Still needs paint, but a lot less work.

Rediculous. No leather & 88k? Why not take a 2500 diesel and make it into a Power Wagon. That may be worth 88K

Toto 37x12.5s will rub on suspension components with stock wheels but you don’t need to trim anything.

Re: New Rear Bumper?

Backup sensors are actually pretty useful when not climbing rocks. Though the camera is good, I’d have backed into a pretty high ledge on Moab rim crest as I parked without the sensors on.

Re: Truck felt squirrely on drive back

these are 37 toyo MTs you are running? yea, its going to be squirrely. the check is, find the speed that makes them squirrelly, if they are the same kind of squirrely at 75 and 85 that they are when at 65 MPH, then your ok. just not used to a True MT. and you could use aftermarket trackbars, specif...

The Gen 4 High Clearance looks interesting. Going with a Class 5 hitch on that? Where does the trailer electrical connector go?

Re: So, I crunched my right rear door at Moab

The front door is damaged, but is much less damaged than the back. It seems reasonably fixable by the people who do paintless dent repair, or I can live with it. The back door is more damaged than it shows in the picture. It's a bit dished in. Never going to forget to turn the wheel before backing d...

OK, so ebay it is. Apparently it came off a 2018 power wagon too.

Well see in a week or two if it as good a deal as I think it is.

Thanks!

Truck felt squirrely on drive back

I don't normally drive long distances at high speed in the truck, so I might be misunderstanding this, but with new 37's at low 40 psi I found the trucks handling at 60+ a bit disconcerting last night driving back from Moab. I don't remember this on stock 33's. I can't describe it really other then ...

So, I crunched my right rear door at Moab

I'm thinking the offer I have for a used but much less damaged door delivered for about $600 is the cheapest way to fix it. This is for a same model year same color door. Anyone disagree? The door works, the window works, it's weather tight, but it's actually more damaged then the picture shows. It'...

Re: WK Sliders - To diamond plate or not?

The diamond plate helps. You might want to add 3M anti-skid tape etc.

The diamond plate also somewhat protects the doors against junk kicked up by the wheels. Somewhat.

If it comes with the winch line on the winch it isn’t tensioned. So you end up having to spool it all out and tension it prior to use.

Re: I Give Up! RustyPW was RIGHT

Just note that in some cases it’s harder than it looks. And there is pretty much no documentation on how to use it for those cases where it’s a multi-step process. People do know, but it’s not always easy to find.

Re: 6.4 with camshaft/crankshaft sensor engine codes

There were some reports around here a few months ago of DIESEL mistakenly put in the gas tanks. I’d be really pissed off. That cost Western Refining a bunch of money about 5 years ago here. Most people didn’t make it a mile. IIRC it turned out to be problem with the inert gas that was supposed to s...
