Re: The Gladiator returns...

I kind of like it. Thinking I might downsize to it for retirement and over landing. Power Wagon is too big, and JL 4dr too small.
And after the post above I am gender confused :run:

Re: Perfect world PW

Engine and Transmission updates are going to be well over due after the big maker overs. With the monster torque and improving fuel mileages that Ford is delivering GM and Ram are going to be forced to do something sooner then later. I would not be surprised to see new drive-train a few years down t...

Re: 6.4 Burning Oil

If you watch the oil change gauge it actually calculates when to change the oil based upon mileage, using 4x4, speeds, and using tow haul mode. Its quite a good system.

Wireless remote standard 8. 24K Topo maps loaded on Uconnect 9. Tail gate dampener(really, we dont have that, come on) 10. ...

Re: 6.4 Burning Oil

Change my oil about every 8K, or when the dummy light reminds me. At 28K miles I never check it. Its odd how you can get a random engine that does this. Seems like every manufacturer has a few. Normal, I say its not, but some like BMW insist it is. Modern engines that are well put together should no...

Re: Alpine Loop - Colorado Camping

Will plan for the 4th again next year. End of summer of 2019 will build a private play ground and camp site 2 miles outside of town. Once I have it ready I will let everyone know. Will be really close for camping but no zoo. Don't think I can get my permits and a week of road building done by the 4th.

Re: Front Diff Blow Up

Driving a modern vehicle long enough to even see a diff blow up seems like a stretch. They should go what a million miles. Sounds like a defective unit. Probably was bad from the start, just a little off. I assume it had oil and not water in it however.

Re: Performance out of the 10-13 5.7 hemi?

At 410HP with the 6.4 I think its less about HP, although meeting or beating the Raptors 450 would be good, its about cutting weight. Use the new engine blocks, aluminum body's, high strength steels, synthetic winch line, ect to make way for sliders, 35s and better power to weight ratio. And hit bet...

Re: G56 Neutral Noise Question

The thing I learned a long time ago is just how much more prone to issues stick shifts are. Then I took and automatic loaner off road while a new clutch was installed in my truck, and lets just say that was that. Ok, so not quite, I had a flat tire and there was no jack in the truck. But that is ano...

Re: Fed up!!! (More dura trash)

Its not a QC issue on these. The sidewalls and belts are super thin. The belts fail the same way every time, a split under that fish skin detail. Truth is very few tires are made to go off-road. But when rental cars on cheap street tires go further then the mighty power wagon, its a problem. True st...

You want the NATO or German Jerry Can style cans. Harder to find but worth it. I carry those even inside SUVs. The stupid US ones that are EPA compliant spill everywhere of course. Because the NATO style has a vent they are forbidden for sale in places like California.

Yes Procal caused the issue. Limp mode was only in 4 Low.

Re: Kill-switch for electronic nannies

So I could have sworn it went into 4 Low a couple of times. But I mostly observed no 4 Low ANDDDDDDDDDDD Limp mode. I could not give any throttle, engine would just provide enough power to keep rolling. I rolled up an 8 foot ledge at 13,000' that was tense. I was stuck in a mud pit in 2wd when I tri...

Re: Kill-switch for electronic nannies

Just a late note on this thread. But I experienced wheel sensor communication problems due to a Procal issue. You can always get it in 4x4 in an emergency by shutting off the engine, placing it in 4x4 and re-starting. How ever 4 Low is out with no speed sensors.
