Re: First non-trip recovery

Tow hooks on a 4x4 should be federal law. Back in the day NO American 4x4 had tow hooks. Every Japanese 4x4 had tow hooks and tie downs. I remember when Chevy first put one on, it was like wow, what a concept.

Re: '17 controversy

From a non-owner considering a purchase in a couple of months. I would never bought a prior one due to looks. I thought chrome and graphics were dated and cheesy. When you mixed in those weird colors on the grill it looked like something a drug lord would own. While the new grill is not perfect, bei...

Re: What to do for broken axleshaft???

I take it axle breakage is less on the newer generation after the change to a the larger rear diff? Just heard of someone spinning there tires on a regular 2500 in snow and busting one a little while back. Just snow!

[/quote] Lol! I've never had a vehicle with service intervals this long and growing up it was always 3k-5k service intervals. Makes me uneasy going 8k. I figured one way to battle the supposed spec of inferior oil was to just change it more often. I don't actually know what to do. I'm getting paraly...

Re: Recovery gear expense justification.

Ahhh, this reminds me of some good times. Snatch block is something you NEVER use until you need it, and when you do, boy do you need it. Great thing about synthetic is it also takes some weight off the rig, and that can never hurt. Not to mention it floats when you need it to. For some reason...

Re: Dodge Ram Power Wagon Global Production Numbers 2005-201

Wow, those are shockingly low numbers. Given how many Raptors that were sold, 24K or so with severe limitations on production....Whats the reason or reasons? Lack of marketing? Reliability concerns for the Brand as I have had? Or the lackluster appearance especially cartoon graphics? Other?

Re: New Rig

I am in the same boat trying to make this major next leap. BTW I love my 05 Titan, but at the time it was class leading and innovative, the new roll out has been a flop with nothing class leading. Heck they even went backwards adding an old fashioned column shifter! (yeh I know the PW still has one)...

Re: Synthetic Line

My Synthetic on my 1996 Montero trail rig is down right ancient 15, 20yrs, who knows. Yes, it does take a beating from sun, and abrasion. But the first time you have to climb a hill with synthetic you will praise Allah that you are not dragging that metal cable up the hill. Had someone pull a real b...

But its close to a ton  30lbs all the time is some weight for sure. Probably would not make a huge difference.

Synthetic Line

I guess since the PW does not fall under fuel regs Ram is not worried about weight. But dang, that cable on the winch has to weigh a ton! Anyone weigh it? Wonder if you would gain .5MPG just by swapping to synthetic? I certainly would swap it out for weight and the fact its so much easier to handle....

This is the first forum I have seen in a long time with post approval. Got to a pain for the Mod. Wonder why? Did the Raptor guys try to take over the forum? Actually would not surprise me :)

Re: "Welcome Thread"

Test drove a god awful Red on Chrome grill Mexican drug dealer PW today. No real surprises I guess, its big, heavy and you know it. Handled very nicely, particularly for how high off the ground you are. Did not realize they have an old fashioned t/case shifter, imagine that. Growing more concerned a...

Raptor Or Power Wagon

Hi everyone. Hope this is the right place, did not see any more active Power Wagon Forums out there. Nothing active like the Raptor Forums anyways. Anyhow my 2005 Titan is getting a bit long in the tooth. Its been a good truck but look what has come out since! Anyhow, been planning on a 2017 Raptor ...
