Re: Recent Warranty Work

Leaky hose I get, it happens. But you do have to wonder why after all these years they struggle with something like unit bearings. Time will tell, so far pretty impressed with how the truck feels. Not as smooth as the Titan in some ways, like engine idle, but that's probably MDS. Had some hard clunk...

Re: Recent Warranty Work

That is a lot of work for a super low mileage truck. Its the kind of thing that worries me about my long term satisfaction with Ram. My drivers seat belt retract er is operating like my Japanese counterparts did at around 150K. That is really annoying. I may need to get mine looked at as well. Stupi...

Re: Intial Impressions from a Noob

A couple of more observations. The ride improved dramatically already. Seems like the shocks needed to break in or something. Very nice now. Other thing is idle is rougher then any vehicle I have ever driven new. I assume its MDS or something.

Re: First Recovery

Never had trouble pulling in reverse before, but I have heard that. I think a light weight mini van would be ok though. Its crazy too, you can practically leave it in neutral to winch its so heavy

First Recovery

Last night actually. Left for an out of town job yesterday morning, get down the highway and I get the dreaded call....Wife forgot that our home is in 4x4 only zone these days and an employee got stuck in her van coming for some forms. She got her out and down the hill. Employee took a running start...

Any way to disable the door dinger? That drives you crazy off road.

Re: 2019 1500 Info Release

Well numerous elements of this truck did make it into the 17, styling wise. To me the best thing they could do is swap to those better bumpers for 2019.

Re: 2019 Wagon

My old truck was an 05 at 250K and it was definitely enough. Test drove it for someone the other day and and I could not believe how badly it drove. Did not even notice driving it daily.

Re: What's wrong with my Hemi?

Unbelievable. Same thing on my 2005 Nissan Titan at maybe 180K as well. Started having engine performance issues, check engine lights even the damn cruise control would conch out. I thought maybe fuel pump.(figured cruise control was another issue) When the shop told me it was cracked exhaust manifo...

Re: Rambox organization

I know I debated it at the dealer for an hour, and they kept offering me more money off the entire time...and just did not want to wait longer. Believe me settling was hard.

Re: 2019 Wagon

I expect nothing at all for 2019. 2018 added car play and that was about it. I suppose Ram could try to play catch up and roll out 360 cameras or something, but given 2020 will certainly get all that and more I really doubt it. While waiting for the 2020 to see what comes out would be cool, I needed...

Re: Rambox organization

So stupid, I would have waited another month. Had already been 3 months, what would another month be? But the guy that ordered it quit as well. Thing is every time you buy a car its seems to be more trouble then it should be.

Re: Intial Impressions from a Noob

Breathing Oxygen with out a license is illegal in NY. I still remember crossing the state line and reading all the signs about what not do years ago and then seeing a 35MPH sign on a divided interstate and realizing we were all cruising 75-80....I just would not make it out east I am afraid. Then ag...

Re: Intial Impressions from a Noob

I beat on my 2005 pretty hard. Its 9500lb towing at the time and power definitely made it a half ton. I abuse stuff and destroyed an Xterra from the same year. I was terrified of the rear diff for years, the one on my Xterra exploded right away. There were a couple of problems, the worse was the loc...

The new JL Jeep 8.4 is water proof. Don't guess they figure we don't need that. By the way the updates are automatic now.

Here comes the 48 volt electrical system.

All I want is a simple truck with simple up-grades. Not some rolling tech mobile.
Guess you will be buying used 1970's trucks from now on :poke:

Re: Folding in Mirrors for better fuel mileage?

Got you, and yes those extendable mirrors would be crazy bad. Never really extended them on My Titan, usually I tow heavy equipment rather then a big, boxy trailer. My PW came with the flip to vertical tow mirrors. Will try those out when I first tow. Montana was the last to have unlimited. 80-85 ou...
