Re: Boogie wagon take 2

Got the rear hubs done. New races bearings and seals as well as upgraded hardware for the spindle locks. Stage8 DNA-60. Much beefier than the factory setup and far easier to use.

Re: Boogie wagon take 2

Nah, fun for all and all for fun. We should do a Texas gtg, even bone stock power wagons can do pretty amazing stuff. Everyone just do what they're comfortable with and it'll be a good time :winchmob:

Re: Axle trusses?

I agree, hence my axle is trussed, however some thing's that should be considered before a person commits to doing a truss- 1. A trussed axle loses ground clearance, things that would not be a problem with a non trussed axle can hit and cause severe damage. This must be accounted for with a change o...

Re: Axle trusses?

I've had the Carli truss and it was really quite nice, it's very installer friendly as far as trusses go. I now have a Thuren based creative fab truss that is about as far as you can take an aam 9.25, it was stripped bare chemical dipped and welded in a custom fixturing jig. The regular Thuren and C...

Re: Disable the CAD/FAD?

I haven't been under a newer truck with the CAD but I assume it's similar to the older style cjd version, with those you could put a 1 piece axle shaft in and a block off plate on the housing. Should work here as well, you could probably relocate the motor/module into the engine bay like you said ju...

Re: Others with Thuren parts, please chime in

As azracer said, once you get it good and greased wipe away any excess. You don't want big gobs of grease it will only attract dirt and grime.

Re: Others with Thuren parts, please chime in

I use redline cv2 for all my chassis components because that's what my Carli bj's take and it keeps things simple. Any quality grease should be fine though, but get synthetic if you can. For the shock and swaybar bushings I believe there are silicone greases you can get in little packets that are ma...

Re: Others with Thuren parts, please chime in

Yes sir, the upper and lower shock bushings. Upper are the sandwich style and lower are barrel, they can both take a dab of something to quiet them down. Maybe sway bar bushings as well.

Re: Others with Thuren parts, please chime in

I'd start with the easiest thing first, grease everything that has a zerk. It won't hurt and it may help. The best I can tell from your video it sounds like bushing squeak from your shocks to me. It looks like you have poly bushings, did you use any lube or install them dry? Dry poly will squeak lik...

You can get hold of a forged rotating assembly and stroke the motor you have for a few grand and avoid all the hassles of swapping motors etc. K1 makes a kit that seems quality and reasonably priced

I understand you not wanting to do business with carli anymore lee, that whole situation was fucked. Besides the rear carli mounts are specific to the bypass shocks and springs built for their unchained kit and wouldn't be appropriate for your application. AZ they are repositioned to allow 13" of tr...
