Here's a pic of the tire at ride height. Notice it is skewed toward the rear of the fender opening (right)Image

Rear view. You can see the square tube cut into a block and welded in place to stabilize the set up.Image

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build

Inside view. Note angle of the heavier duty U-bolts. The wedges can be seen clearly. This helps with the u-bolt angle. Note square piece of tube welded in to stabilize the lift block. Also note the 3/8" plate at the bottom that enables the axle to be located aft. This plate also gives a little more ...

Top side of springs. Note u-bolts wedges. Also, note where axle sits in relation to the top plate looking down. It is 1.5" to the rear (left).Image

Re: Power Wagons @ Rausch Creek late August

Now I am possibly going up for 8/1. There is a group of Jeepers doing a Jeeps for COPS type of thing. The guy running it who has a YouTube channel and is retired cop seems amenable to me joining. Might teach some Jeep dudes how capable our rigs are.

I'm in NC 8/9 - 8 /16.. don't tell my employer because of the lame brain embargo. So, I can't do it that period.

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build

I will try to do my best tomorrow to take pics and explain the mod. It is important to know there was a bit more devil in the details. Plates welded to the axle spring perches to enable the axle to move back. Upscaled ( thicker) u-bolts. Wedges put in etc, etc, etc to help offset axle wrap. Apparent...

Re: Acroweld powerwagon build

Check my build. Added some pics. I was fine on some pretty severe stuff up until I had a long up hill run on super undulated trails. These trails had one side raised by 3 ft from level while simultaneously the other side was drooped 3 ft from level. This with the front doing the opposite. Pretty ext...

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build

Here are the pics. Note last pic shows wheel slightly toward back of fender opening (to left). Figure under torque it will shift forward a bit (to right). So, good it was skewed to the rear. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200711/2afbce8131a44c9d5b48a55e56613c9d.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.c...

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build

Ok. Finally got my truck back, but I think it will be worth it. Once you have 37s you can't go back. So, I'm going to do this in reverse of what I wanted to. I will show you the outcome of the changes first from pictures taken by the shop during the work. It is raining cats and dogs today so hopeful...

Re: Acroweld powerwagon build

Sir, beautiful build. Looking really good. BTW:. Not sure if those are 37x 12.5 or 13.5 and what your offset is. What I can tell you as a word of caution, I'm running 37 x 13.5 Toyos on 17x9 +20 mm offset rims, that hit pretty significantly on the front lower of the REAR wheel wells. My first extrem...

I'm there with you man. I installed his locker bypass on my 4th gen 2013 wagon. It is so awesome that you can turn you're lockers on and off and do exactly that immediately and whatever drive your in. Dave was great to deal with. Very responsive. The kit went in really easy. Hardest part was getting...

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build

Also my rear dome LED from HR (GTR) brand developed an intermittent flashing a few weeks ago. I remembered I had a spare because I bought the set piecemeal. Installed the spare...flashing gone. This tells me that the LED was failing. From my experience, typically the number 1 enemy of LEDs is heat. ...

Thuren Trackbar 2.0. This time set to 39-3/8" eye-to-eye. I used a crows foot with torque wrench to torque the jam nut. It is definitely torqued to 200 ft lbs. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200626/2c5a823bd92cb0dc987348a1d7506cec.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200626/a6d815219771f75a5db...

But then again, the cloud data being 10 Gigs, not sure how much 4K video can be uploaded.

Perhaps if you turn on your mobile hotspot on your phone it will upload to cloud that way. Better have unlimited data plan if your going to do that though.

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build

Sorry you had troubles, but it’s awesome that you’re out there putting the truck through it’s paces and using it as intended. If you have the wherewithal to do so, replacing the leaf springs with either carli or thuren packs will put the axle where it should be to not rub, and you’ll gain some perf...
