Year 2 (early 2019) it was time for suspension upgrade. Yeah, yeah I know...we'll see. Maybe leave it on there as an experiment. I do plan to be at Rausch.

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build

I began the plan to lift the truck towards the end of 2018. I decided first thing is first. Strengthen the steering w a DOR steering brace and upgrade the trackbar with a Thuren trackbar. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191201/753c17b50d57ea5b572dc9e7eab2c78d.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/...

I've done several upgrades in the less than a year I've had it. Randy Ellis Designs bull/light bar w/ 4 halogen KCs. 2 spots in center and to wides on the outside slightly angled out to spot deer. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191201/60e1bec9e77a07d09f866270be49e5fa.jpg Sent from my Moto Z (2) ...

2013 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Hi,. My name is John, but friends call me Fitz. I generally buy and keep my vehicles for a long time, modding them and keeping them well maintained. I have experience working on a first gen 1997 TJ, my brother had a YJ at the time that I helped him with. Moved on to a 2002 ...

Re: New rims and tires

I didn't have so much problem removing the arms on my '13 PW. They weren't so rusty. But, this does remind me of the time I helped my brother put a leaf spring lift on his YJ Jeep. Fought us every bit of the way. Man those eye bolts were seized to the sleeves. Tons of WD-40. Into the night heating t...

Re: Fender work on 4th gen

Great write up. This should be a sticky. Thank you sir. I wish I would have taken some pictures or vid while I was doing it, but I had limited time and was running out of day light. I had to figure out how to do it, and what tools to use during the process. If I had to do it now, I think I could do...

Re: Anyone have pics of Thuren front bumper on 14+

I tried to figure out a bull bar for it. I’m sure it’s doable, but to me the bull bar concept needs to be pretty serious in structural terms. The bumper was not designed for it and it would take some work to make a legitimate bull bar that will work. Yeah, I see what you guys mean. To follow the no...

Re: New to the registrey

Hey, John, welcome to the forum! I'm down the Pike (Sumneytown, that is) in North Wales. My '05 sits more than it drives, but I get around. You have a great list of mods. I'm interested in your exhaust. I've wondered if Pypes does something with acceptable clearance for offroading. I'm sure we'll r...

Re: Fender work on 4th gen

Use a torch to heat up the plastic fender well where it needs to be pushed back. Move the heat around a bit. You don't want it to catch fire or melt a hole through it. It will get a bit melty and smear a bit. Use the heat and a large metal spoon to message the fender back toward the newly clearanced...

Spray paint the cut pinch weld at this point. Remove the bungees. Reattach the flare retainer nuts.

Re: Fender work on 4th gen

At this point you have to get under the truck. Get something to rest your head on, because you will be reach up underneath and behind the fender well. I don't have a picture of this but I have copied here again the piece of the pinch weld you have to cut off. Notice the first drill hole done with a ...

Re: Fender work on 4th gen

Here's the Milwaukee hack saw I used and 2 different blades. I used the Diablo blades to cut longer straighter areas more effectively. I used the step bit to make relief cuts in the pinch weld from underneath/ behind the fender well. The key hole bit was used to redirect and make long enough cuts to...

Re: Fender work on 4th gen

After cutting the nub off the flare, take a couple of the lower flare retainer nuts off with 8mm socket. Use a short bungee to hook in the lower flare hole and pull that out a bit, attach bungee to tube step if you have one. Use step bit to make a hole in the furthest most corner of the plastic fend...

Here are where the fender flare nub gets cut off and where the pinch weld is positioned once you cut off the flare nub. Re: Fender work on 4th gen

Here's what gets cut off...note a couple holes drilled with the step bit in the pinch well. These are relief holes where I could begin in a different direction with the keyhole blade enough to switch to Diablo blades which cuts better, stats sharper. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191129/e32139f...

Fender work on 4th gen

Showing some pics here after the fact of how to trim the pinch weld with zero cutting of the fender well and only minor cutting of the fender flare. Most You Tube vids have you butchering the plastic fender well to get at and cut the pinch well with a metal cut off wheel. I prefer to keep debris and...
