Re: AEV Procal install issue

AEV contacted me and said no factory models have all of the wire ports taken at the OBDII port and some aftermarket alarms/tracking devices plug in between and could be the problem. My truck had this pre-installed so this is likely the issue. Now I need to figure out how to un-install this tracking ...

Re: AEV Procal install issue

I believe it leads to another open OBD port looking female plug that i believe i may have tapped into, then connected the leads to the green block This! Thank you... Please be sure to tell us how you end up - I have a ProCal sitting in a box that I hope to get to next weekend, haven't even looked a...

AEV Procal install issue

20190604_175606.jpg For my 2018 the procal instructions say to "install the 2 terminals of the harness into the OBDII connector according to the labels in cavities 1 and 9." 1 and 9 already contain wires from the factory. No mention of them(much less what to do with them) in the instructions. I fou...

Re: Aluminum Driveshaft failures?

What’s with everyone thinking a steel shaft is going to turn into a pool noodle and make their truck explode? If you hit it in the rocks you’re probably going to slide off something. The likelihood of you dropping the entire rear weight of the truck perfectly on the shaft and blowing up the transfe...

Re: Aluminum Driveshaft failures?

I talked to Adam's. There is a chart and they aren't legally allowed to build a steel shaft over 72" for highway use. They can build a thicker walled aluminum or build a 2 piece steel shaft with double cardans. He also said either would be expensive. I got the impression he will build whatever I wan...

Build looks great! I have some catching up to do... Took mine on it's first real offroad trip yesterday. It did great! We'll definitely have to hit some trails soon. I need to finish up a volunteer project in the Mojave Preserve soon. We plan to camp and then wheel if you are interested? We haven't ...

Re: Transfer case swap

One of the most successful LS Jeep conversion guys is here in Las Vegas(Motech). For the Chevy swap the Rubicon T-case doesn't work but his opinion is that with a modern 6 or 8 speed and V8 torque it isn't needed. Quite a few guys even have to change there R+Ps to a taller ratio afterwards. I realiz...

Aluminum Driveshaft failures?

I noticed how large the stock driveshaft is on my 18. Has anyone destroyed one in the rocks yet? I haven't seen anything on here about replacing it, but it looks vulnerable. A good friend told me it should be the first thing to go, but he plays in the rocks for a living. There are other things I wou...

My truck came with dual alternators and I don't really have any experience with them. I guess it will make winching easier... I've been concerned about this also. It hasn't (miraculously)been very hot here in the desert yet and the oil temp gauge sits just on the high side of half in normal driving. I plan to tow in 110°+ weather... I noticed the oil temps on my 5.7 Grand Cherokee w/tow package are usually higher than my b...

EasyDoesIt and TommyDuncan lets figure out an upcoming weekend and hit some local trails, Logandale ? Logandale is fun, but I might need some rocker protection first. Some knucklehead crossed 6 lanes of traffic and almost took out my 4 day old truck! I panic stopped and it didn't skid. I don't recall any abs feedback either, but it stopped ok. My 2012 Rubicon was difficult to hold in 4lo in 1st or reverse. 4.88s and 4:1 low range w/37"s... quite often crawled ove...

Just bought one like it 3 days ago for $53,000, but without the AEV stuff. MSRP was just under $64,000.

Put 37"s on it and got it dirty last night. Really liking it so far!
