On the 3G's. The blend doors broke. Hopefully on the newer ones. They fixed it.

Re: New Tools Thread

I just got the G2 Milwaukee M18 1/2" drill and trim saw. Big improvement over my old 19v Craftsman. When I worked at the power plant. We started off with DeWalts. The batteries would not last a year before replacing them. The tools would last about 18 months before hitting the scrape pile. Man...

Re: Front and rear diff guards

Doubling volume in a system that isn’t built for it is a problem. Doubling oil volume in a system that was designed for it is a different story. Put 14 quarts of oil in your Hemi and let me know how it goes [emoji23] My oil analysis running Signature Amsoil 0w-20 for 24,000 miles on a 25k mile filt...

Re: Rusty's Build - 2008 POWER WAGON RC

Rock sliders and recovery gear don’t have steam piping attached to them. This stuff isn’t AWS for pressure application! If you are welding to code or not. The same principles apply even if it's not steam piping. It's general practice. Having worked in a couple of fab shops, being a cert welder, boi...

Nothing was mentioned about wheel bearings. The talk is about the carrier and pinion bearings. Whole nother ball game.

Re: Rusty's Build - 2008 POWER WAGON RC

I have never understood the thought of leaving a tube open to ‘get rid of the moisture inside’. The moisture in the hot air as you’re welding a piece of metal is almost zero. Anything in there is going to oxidize with the surface and then be gone. It’s not going to rust itself from the inside out. ...

Re: Rear Diff Bearings Already

So, if oil level was at proper "factory height", & there is no obvious wear in ring gear or pinion, how would this be possible ? Did previous owner do some water crossings ? I think i'd ask about the fluids condition & level, if they inspected it. Keep us posted please. I've seen brand ne...

Their thought process was probably to get rid of moisture inside the tubes but i think welding them solid & just drilling some tiny weep hole would be better ?
That would be the proper way of doing it. The weep hole would have to be about 1/8" diameter. And it would get plugged with mud.

That thing looks almost as bad as my POS Fusion bumper. Does it have zero gusseting behind a welded seam where the clevis mounts are attached, too?!? Well... i have lots. You can put a generator on anything. Mine is on a pull out back bumper. Water tank isn't as important as grey tanks. 60 gal plus water tank and a grey water with seperate galley tank is super nice. Toy haulers have wierd configs. If you don't need that don't get one. You can ge...
