Wow!
You get the most strength to resist bending from the welds exactly where those stock welds were missing!!!
No chit! I welded the chit out of them now. :o

Now I know why the welds torn. Found this picture from when I installed the nerf bars. The factory welds only go half way around.

Re: Rusty's Build - 2008 POWER WAGON RC

Here's some pic's of the 3G factory rock rail with torn welds on the 3" tube. The factory rock rails. The weld does not go all the way around. They leave a 1" gap at the bottom. This is where the tear started. I prepped the area and rewelded the old welds.

Re: Diff Temp video

Lots of :cash: :cash: :cash: spent on mods and "improvements". If you don't baseline and then quantify the impacts, you never know if the bang is worth the buck. That's big value of the forum - not everyone has to experiment - we can learn from others that do it right and have the data from measure...

Re: Diff Temp video

What gets me is the level drops when up to speed. The ring gear is throwing viscous oil that takes time to drain back to the bottom of the diff housing. Faster ring gear, throws more oil. I’d never really considered that, but it isn’t so crazy when you think about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapa...

Re: Rusty's Build - 2008 POWER WAGON RC

When I replaced my bent up skid bar. I replaced all of the bolting that hold them in place with stainless steel 3/8", button head bolts. I had the grind the heads off of all of the old bolts because the heads was too damage to get a wrench or a socket on them to remove them.

Re: Rusty's Build - 2008 POWER WAGON RC

I also installed a Magnaflow 3" in, 3" out 18" long muffler with a turn down. The stock muffler was giving up the ghost as the down down on it rotted away, and it rattled inside. Made my own support rods out of 1/2" drill rod.

Re: Rusty's Build - 2008 POWER WAGON RC

I had to replace the right side E-brake cable. It got roasted from my tail pipe rotting off. So i installed the new cable. Went to adjust the new cable. And I couldn't. Th nut on the adjuster had frozen in place. Heat from a torch didn't help. So I got a new adjuster. Befor installing the new adjust...

Re: Tradesman/power wagon vs power wagon snowplow prep

PowerWagon comes with everything in both so they are unavailable. Does not show any difference for suspension on my screen. The PW has taller, ...

What are the maximum number of pictures that can be inserted in a post?
I try to limit myself to about 5 or 6 pic's per post on the same item. This way when people comment on them. You know which pic's, and nothing is running together.

Re: Rusty's PW Journal

Nice job! I bought the Thuren arms, but they're still in the box. I should have got these things. I may still do it. I definitely need the Thuren shackles. The ones I have are a little short. Do you Kno how the Thuren soft ride coils compare to the Carli progressive coils? The Thuren coils are a lo...

FS Carli 6" Stainless Brake Lines. 03 to 11

As the title says. Carli 6" Stainless Brake Lines. Brand new, never used, never installed. I installed the Thuren 3" Softride springs. Figure that the 6" lines would work. But they're about 2" too long for me. New price is $170.00. I'll let them go for $100.00 plus shipping. Also have new alignment ...
