Re: Control Arms

The Aliens are super stout and those brackets are ideal for sliding over rocks. I replaced a set of BDS long arms with a set of Aliens on a truck that went to Moab - zero comparison. The older BDS arms made of 2.0”x.120” DOM didn’t stand a chance and were bent like crazy I've only seen pic's of the...

Re: Control Arms

If it’s not in the budget, make are the control arm bolts are TIGHT TIGHT. My arms are totally gone but still work fine. I have sympathy for my driveshaft but otherwise it doesn’t hurt anything. If you’re buying new arms, either go proper budget and get the Thuren short arms or go for the best setu...

Re: 3G frame skid bars. Bad news!

Mine were damaged and removed when I had the fuel pump replaced. I priced out the parts, and they were about $150, but I never bothered replacing them. I like the one from DamageWagon, but that looks like it's going to be pretty expensive. From the website I posted. They are about $43.00 each. 3 of...

Re: Control Arms

I believe Carli has 2 types, a standard and a high clearance, both considered short arms. The standard are 700 and the high clearance are 950, both are 1/2” longer than stock. Thuren’s short arms are 760 I believe, they are 1/2” longer than stock and bent for better clearance. The standard Carli ar...

Re: 3G frame skid bars. Bad news!

Vintage? Seriously. Must be due to low production numbers. If 2008 is vintage, what does that make us? The bars fit 2005 to 2009. What the parts guy showed me on the computer. Is the number of times the parts get sold. And the number was ZERO. So items like this get moved to the vintage lis...

3G frame skid bars. Bad news!

Bad news for us 3G guys. The 3 skid bars under the frame are no longer being carried by Ram. I bent the chit out of one and ripped it off the frame at the front at Rausch Creek when I got hung up on the boulder. Ram now has them listed as vintage parts. The parts guy gave me a web address to go to, ...

Good for her. My daughter got her BS Mathematics degree at a local college. Got both her Master's and PhD in higher education at the University of Pittsburgh. Not cheap! She is #2 at one school distinct. Just below the superintendent.

Russ, I heard of that. Mike mentioned that, too with vBulletin. Does that forum use vBulletin? Look at the bottom of their forum’s web pages, it should show which forum software they’re using.

Just pour your favorite 140w gear lube in the front....
Got some 80w-250. It's $70.00 a liter.

I don't see why gear lube wouldn't work. The front axle bearings on my motorhome run on gear lube.

Rausch Creek 2019 June 21,22,23

Mike, Peter, and me made reservations for June 21,22,23 2019 at Twin Pines campground. This was the only way we would be guaranteed spots at the campground. We got the same spots as this year. 2018. https://www.twinpines.org/ Mike said that there is another offroad park not too far away. He's going ...

He had other plans. Tonka left the same time as Mike did. I didn't want to wheel without lockers after what w...

Re: Wheel Bearing/Hub Recommendation

SKF hubs only, no exceptions. Do not run Timken. SKF is the NAPA house brand for my 2011 and probably is for yours, and NAPA will do a 3 year warranty on the bearings. When you install it, and do this to your other hub as well, unscrew the ABS plug and squirt in a good chunk of your favorite wheel ...
