Re: Does your sunroof leak?

I had to replace the gaskets under my cab lights and seal them better. That's where I was getting water in at.

Price for Toyo 35" MT's

What's a good price for Toyo 35/12.5-17 MT's? Sam's Club have them for $383 each. Local tire dealer has them for $311 each. Who else has better prices?

Re: New rims and tires

I used a fine tooth blade, 18 TPI. I started off with a 4.5 cut wheel, then switched to the sawzall. I made 2 cut per bracket. One cut on each side of the arm, inside of the bracket. Then the bolt head and nut fell off, and the arm dropped out.

Re: New rims and tires

Negative caster is to the front. Positive caster is to the rear. I used to do alignments.

If you have a sawzall. It will reach better then a 4.5" diameter cut-off wheel.

Re: be glad you have a pw

I've read where cheby 1/2T and 3/4T 4x4's use the same front running gear. The pumpkins, axles, etc. The only difference is in the wheel bolt pattern. 6 vs 8. I don't know how true that is.

Re: New rims and tires

You have to change the lower arms too. The new arms you got are a 1/2" longer. That's for both upper and lower arms. If you don't change the lower arms. Your caster will be way negative.

how did you get a sawsall behind the cams?
I put the blade between the arm and inside of the bracket. I cut through the sleeve and bolt.

Re: Locker Issues....

I found this while I was looking for magnetic plugs. Gale Banks on designing the optimal diff cover. Never thought much about fluid dynamics inside a diff, but this is one of the best videos I have ever seen on YouTube. Worth watching. And they did the dyno testing on a Dodge CTD. The covers for 25...

Well how did anyone get the bolts out of the front lower control arms??????
I had to cut the passenger side rear upper to get it out, was rusted to the sleeve.
I had to cut all of my bolts. Used a sawzall.

When I installed those bolts. I put them in from the outside.

Re: Locker Issues....

I got my '05 stuck three times in deep sand in September and I could lock the front diff but not the rear diff. Tried to crawl out of the sand and the fronts were doing what they are supposed to do but the rears were just slinging sand, even with the limited slip. New transfer case position sensor ...

Re: New rims and tires

One thing you may want to have on hand when you start to tear things apart. New bolts and nuts for the control arms. When I did mine. On both sides. The lower bolts were seized into place. I had to use a fiber cut off wheel to cut the bolts, so that I could get the arms out. Use lots of anti-s...

Re: Diff Temp video

I was waiting on something innovative with the hype and when the end product was released, not impressed. I can see this is cover is not suitable for a 4WD unless building a SEMA-like, non-functional suspension truck. The scoop or duct thing would likely get caught on something and cover cracked or...
