Re: Blinking Rear Diff Light in 2WD
What do you mean by “tightening” pin connections? Bending the contacts on the female side of the plug? Yes. IMG_1533.JPG IMG_1534.JPG IMG_1536.JPG IMG_1537.JPG IMG_1535.JPG :patriot: Got it— thank you. That oughta be fun while lying underneath the truck. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Re: Blinking Rear Diff Light in 2WD
The flashing light is telling you that the final drive control module/smart bar sees a problem in the rear locker system. Check out this thread for more information. http://forum.powerwagonregistry.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5132 Also, try cleaning and tightening all of your connections at the Smart b...

Re: Diff Temp video
The benefits of increased capacity may be debatable, but the benefits of a drain plug to me aren’t, and that’s why I have Mag-Hytecs, at least in theory: they mis-engineered their drain plugs, and I have stripped the woefully inadequate 3/16 hex fittings on both. Axle drain plugs make sense to me (i...

Blinking Rear Diff Light in 2WD
About a week ago, I noticed the rear differential indicator light blinking as I’m driving down the highway. The truck was in 2WD, the diff lock selector was in “unlock” position.
Anyone have any idea what this might mean?

Re: '08 Winch Questions
Not sure if it's relevant but I had winch spooling issues with an 05 powerwagon winch. Took it to an authorized Warn service center and they said it had a bad solenoid and that it had the wrong controller. They wanted over 400 CDN to fix it. I brought the winch home and found a pdf file for trouble...

Re: '08 Winch Questions
I bought the control plug harness on Amazon. Look for the M15000 harness. It doesn't have the low voltage wire so I took off that whole harness. You do have to drop the winch to install, and the wiring is different from the way Dodge wires it, so if you struggle with wiring you may need to get help...

Re: '08 Winch Questions
If the winch only spools out but not back in it's most like a failed thermal protection switch. You can bypass it for a few bucks here's a link to the instructions on the DodgeTalk.com Power Wagon forum. You'll need to create a login to see the pictures. I did it to my truck years ago as a preventa...

'08 Winch Questions
Hello all after a long while. I have a winch that only spools out cable-- it won't retrieve it. Handy. Tell you the truth, this winch has been as reliable as Mideast peace: I've never been able to count on it, and the primary reason has been corroded contacts causing intermittent operation, which le...

Thanks guys!
The hard work is done at this point.
I'd share some pix, but apparently PWR & Tapatalk don't play nice in that area.

Transfer Case Indicator Switch Problems
The transfer case dash indicator light pretty much tells me what it wants to whenever it wants, and up until this week it wasn't much more than a distraction. Right now, however, I am helping a buddy move off very remote property with a 4WD trail for access, and I have discovered that since the t-ca...

Re: Where'd My Remote Locking Go?
Fix'd. No idea how. I got in the PW to take a drive in the hills, and the battery was flat after sitting for two weeks. I hooked up the charger/booster & got it started after a few minutes, went driving, came home, went to bed. On a lark this morning I pushed the lock button on the primary remote, a...

Where'd My Remote Locking Go?
It's gone. No goodbyes, no forwarding address, just silence when I push either lock button on either remote. I changed the battery in the primary remote, tried the spare (which gets almost NO use), and even tested the primary at O'Reilly's. It tested fine. I checked every fuse whose description in t...

Been away a while...
I actually don't know how they fixed it, but I'm almost certain they didn't remove the diff.
Still working great, though.

Re: Do I Need Helper Springs With a Pop-Up Camper?
Thanks for all the replies, and pardon my delay in acknowledging them I nixed the Grandby I mentioned for tailgate clearance reasons, although I'm still very interested in getting a pop-up truck camper. It would only be in the truck for camping trips, and on jacks the rest of the time. I've looked a...

Hawk Performance in the red box. Superduty, I believe they're called. Once you get some heat into them, they stop NOW, and they don't make any noise at all.
Love 'em.

Do I Need Helper Springs With a Pop-Up Camper?
I'm looking at a Four Wheel Granby pop-up, and was wondering if the PW needs helper springs (air would be my preference) for something of that weight (950 lbs dry, don't know the wet weight). Any info would be appreciated, although this question my well be moot after I check clearances between my ca...

Re: Why is My Front Axle Leaking?
When replacing the axle shafts back in the housing. You have to be careful of the axle seals. They nick real easy. In your case, 2 1/2 years. How many miles? 30K +- To my way of thinking, 2 1/2 years & 30,000 miles takes the lockout installation off the list off probable causes for this sudden hemo...
