Re: Powerwagon's best model year 2005-2020?

Without question, 2005 is the best year. Why I haven't had to put more than a new battery in it in 15 years. Might need some tires here soon though... Just need to find a 2005 with about 5,000 miles on it and I would be all over it! [emoji38] I only have about 5000 per year... Sent from my SM-G965U...

Re: Powerwagon's best model year 2005-2020?

I nominate Damagewagon for best post of thread! As a Best Year '05 owner, you hit the nail right on the head. Fortunately, I have only suffered the grab handle and door harness issues. I do like the visibility and shorter wheelbase of the 3G. Oh, and the simplicity. I do wish for more power. And may...

Re: New to the registrey

Hey, John, welcome to the forum! I'm down the Pike (Sumneytown, that is) in North Wales. My '05 sits more than it drives, but I get around. You have a great list of mods. I'm interested in your exhaust. I've wondered if Pypes does something with acceptable clearance for offroading. I'm sure we'll ru...

Re: New rims and tires

I was refering to the factory, rear-high attitude. I can't tell from his pic if the truck is level, low in the rear, etc. I can't imagine .5" longer Thuren arms (same as my Carli set) throwing it out of spec unless the rear is really low, tipping the front axle back. That would have to be WAY low!. ...

Re: New rims and tires

Yeah, with the Thuren arms (.5" longer lower arms) you may need to get the stance closer to stock. Shackles may help, and they make the rear springs work alot better. I assume you carry a bunch-o-stuff in the bed (heavy), but I don't know if you have a leveling kit on the front. Let us know how you ...

Welcome. I really liked my Toyo MTs. The RTs are almost as good, but the next set will probably be MTs again.

Re: Dodge off road

This is Danny's method. I have been following threads just like this for years. Dodgetalk, DTX, here, all the same. When he was small, it was always *I have so many orders I can't keep up*. Then it was *I need more people/bigger shop*. Then *It's hard to find good people*. It is always *I'm doing ev...

Re: Rock Sliders For '05 PW?

I have White Knuckle sliders on my '05, as does PDavey. Great fit, solid, and they bolt on. I have really used them on actual rocks with no damage. The only thing I can think of in your case is the location of the mounts in relation to your batteries. I can measure the location of the mounts if you ...

Re: Hi from Central Virginia!

Sorry about the threadjack, mikejr Welcome! PWs are good for a bunch of water, I think 24" IIRC. Of course, read your manual. It may depend on the year. Some of us do it occasionally. It's not my favorite way to abuse it, but I haven't had any issues. Raising the vents is a good idea. One of these d...

Re: Easy way to fix driver's side lean?

All of this ^^^

You turn the axle into a big torsion bar if the cams aren't set pretty close to each other. You won't twist the axle, so it either raises or lowers a rear corner. If it raises the left rear, it pushes down on the right front.

We all usually hang together, but if we end up with a large group, we will have to break up. There are different styles of trail everywhere you go in the park, so you should be able to find something you like.

Re: A/C Vacuum Leak? Blend Doors?

This is a strange one, based on this and your other thread. I can't imagine you're too happy resorting to throwing dollars at it until it gives in. I have a Tahoe that goes hot when sitting still, idling. Our shop is supposed to fix it this week. Quite cold while driving. I'm told they know what par...

But seriously, you may be able to track down his thread. I think he used DC, as Colibri said. High output at low RPMs.
