Re: Best Build Decision? Leather....

I am curious about the duratracs. What did the wear pattern look like running them at 65 psi all the time? Oh and how much do your generation of power wagon's weigh?

Re: Shock scoring

offroading at the badlands in Attica Indiana I've seen isssues with particulates for sure. all ujoints make noise if you don't rinse off coming off those trails. My wife needed new rear drive shaft ujoints after two separate trips. Something is in the Attica Indiana soil for sure.

Re: Fabfour Grumper

I think it looks original for sure. Kind of cool to me but I'd like to see how it does hitting rocks, pushing cars then seeing the effects afterward. Not sure how much it misses the mark in protecting parts underneath. Front view looks like a good approach angle holding the winch at a reasonable hei...

Re: 40-Inch Tire Discussion (Or anything bigger than 37's)

I personally like what I saw of that fabfour trimming kit. If you're truly into offroading I don't think cutting is an issue. Just my view. It's easy for me to say cause the hood is the only straight panel on my truck. I don't think I would use the flares but the flare base would be good with me. I ...

Re: Power Wagon Does not Make It

Their opinion is no better than any other off road novice. A few foot of one trail shouldn't be the deciding factor of any rig. Yes one of the power wagon's weaknesses is it's lack of floatation. In this case you are right that they had different drivers, driving differently with different tires. In...

Re: Can the steering be made right?

I am totally on the same page as RustyPW. I would add that I've had about 7-8 steering boxes and each box was different from the others. Meaning each one had a different amount of play and smoothness. With that in mind the hydro assist really helps cover up the weakness of the steering boxes. I pret...

Re: Steering Braces

I was snapping sector shafts off my 06 power wagon's steering box after putting on 37"s. The 06' originally had the smaller steering box but I think rock crawling with our heavy trucks and lockers engaged is a risk to the larger box too. I have hydro assist, a steering brace attached to the drivers ...

Re: power wagon went onto it's lid at Uwharrie

I wouldn't have an opinion if I hadn't gone car crushing a few times with the power wagon but the cabs on fords always seems to cave in much quicker than other makes. Drive onto a ford and the tires sink straight to the bottom of the trunk or floor boards. Do the same with a chevy and there will sti...

Sounds like this recently happened on Dutch John trail. The skin on fords really don't seem to handle much.

Sounds like he's giving up on the truck. Who knows though it may depend on how insurance sees it. He doesn't think he's got the money to keep it.

Ram4rocks has a black power wagon and I don't think he has as many mods on his power wagon as this one?

This is the thread from North Carolina's local offroad community. And yes it was a power wagon but I don't know details of it's specs yet. I'm really curious! And I'm amazed I didn't know about this guy!?

power wagon went onto it's lid at Uwharrie

I can't say much about the details of who this is but I know it isn't me or ram4rocks but I'm pretty sure it's a power wagon. It's on the Daniel trail at Uwharrie national forest after the 2nd ledge going up the main hill. From what I can see he's got a few mods but It wasn't riding like the swaybar...

Re: Torn Bicep Muscle

For what it's worth, I tore mine 2 years ago. I luckily had one of the best surgeons for that operation in the US. It is now stronger than it originally was. keeping on a strict work out routine helped more than anything else. If you don't work out I think you'll find it won't get back to normal but...

Re: Clunking in steering wheel

I have replaced every part of steering multiple times from Bergeson shaft to the knuckles. I have an 06. I've had roughly 6 steering boxes with the latest being the larger box, 4 hydrolic rams, 6 tie rod kits and 4-5 pumps. I've only had the original steering shaft and the borgeson. I have the clunk...

Re: What to do when you break your drive shaft?

I prefer to be proactive. My first issue and most troublesome has been steering. I starting snapping sector shafts off of my steering box when I went up to 35"s. The 2006 pw's came with the smaller steering box which had smaller sector shaft. And I was wrestling the steering often on the trails full...

Re: Raptor vs. Power Wagon vs. ZR2

Just looked at pics of the ZR2 set up. rear driveshaft looks short....Jeep TJ short. Not sure if its the pics? Looks like it would be a chore to lift it but it appears as though chevy did much better than Ford. When I've gotten under raptors I've been freaked out about vulnerable brake lines and num...

Re: Raptor vs. Power Wagon vs. ZR2

I enjoyed the video. I might have to go look at the ZR2 and take it for a test drive. Take one to 4wheelparts and put it on the RTI ramp. And I wonder if chevy took the time to tuck all the undercarriage soft parts unlike Ford. I also followed the Raptor thread and read pretty much the whole thread....

Re: Funny steering feeling

good idea to check ball joints and unit bearings too. jack up front axle a few inches, grab a buddy with 6ft pry bar and have him pry up on the tires cycling tension on one tire at a time. any undesirable movement pretty much tells you to replace parts. Sometimes you have to watch closely to see if ...

I'll be honest that I haven't read all of your comments But I've got to say this about the whole AEV situation. periodically I do go night wheeling and it's on rocks on the east coast. Before I had 2, 20" trailmaster light bars I always seemed to say where did that big ass rock or rut come from. Now I see more like daytime. I like my LED's. They are good work lights and good on some country roads here. I do u...
