Re: Considering a 2018 Power Wagon, help

Nice work man, these trucks are great, you're going to love it. Welcome to the group and back to Ram. I think its awesome that some start off with " it will be my daily and ill pull a trailer every now and then"... Living in the west valley(AZ), commuting 45 mins-hour an half each way, it is so hard...

Re: Alpine Loop - Colorado Camping

I wont make this July trip but we are planning an August run. What trails are you guys running and what campsites are you staying?

Trails we are thinking Poughkeepsie Gulch and Corkscrew/Hurricane/California Gulch.

Camping at Ridgeway State Park and/or blm if we can find legal land.

Re: Considering a 2018 Power Wagon, help

If you're thinking about buying new you'd be wise to wait for the 2019 model if for no reason than the 8spd trans. 35's will fit all day with the stock suspension and wheels or if you are okay trimming 37's will work very well, again no lift.

Sweet man!!

FYI When you do the front springs don’t forget to disconnect the locker plug on the axle.
Thanks Marcus. The truck seems to behave better at high speeds.

Good call on the locker plug.

Re: EasyDoesIt's Build - 2018 Power Wagon "White Rhino"

Installed the Thuren Rear Trackbar this afternoon, pretty straight forward after you understand how all the brackets fit in. The first test to see if the trackbar was worth the money is on my trip to the airport in the morning, I usually get an intermittent rear shimmy at highway speeds. Should get ...

Re: 2013+ truck steering nut recall?

Well in my 38 years I’ve seen a lot of loose nuts on the web!🤣 #DadJokes Before the 2018 PWIM trip I had my alignment done at Firestone and low and behold after the first trail I noticed my steering wheel was off center. Turns out the dingbats at Firestone didn't tighten the damn jam nuts in ...

Thanks guys. I'm not sure I'd do it again but I do like the way they turned out and the fact they are unique doesn't hurt. Time to put them through their paces. I've officially ordered Thuren 1.5" lift front springs, rear track bar, and Dethloff skid (Thanks Marcus). Stayed tuned for install details

I finally had a chance to finish the kick out on my sliders. I'm really digging the way they turned out. Not a super useful step but they look great and will provide that added protection and hi-lift point that I was missing.

Re: EasyDoesIt's Build - 2018 Power Wagon "White Rhino"

To me, the overall "look" of the tire is more important than some PSI number. I have always started off by lowering the tires down to the point that they "look" good. Then check the pressure numbers (mainly just so you know it) and go from there with trial and (hopefully not) error. Eventually you ...

Re: What came with your 2018

To be honest, not much comes with the PWs. All I got were 2 key fobs, a winch cable/controller, a hitch sleeve and floor mats. My hook was connected to my winch when I picked it up.

Granted I didnt pay for any extra bed extenders or side steps.

How badly do these rub on the sway bar? Kinda torn on whether to get 35's or go to the 37's like you did... My truck is a stock 2018.
Go for 37s, you wont regret it. :D

IMO, if you have to pay someone to fab up a set of sliders, and you want them to mimic the look and strength of wk sliders, your gonna be into the same price range as a set of wk sliders. Might save on the shipping part, thats about it. Agreed. Total material cost might be less than a few hundred b...

Do you guys think the "front lift" (just over 1/4") is anything more than the suspension reacting to the reduced front end weight? 7mm=0.28 inch

I was thinking the same thing. With the alleged zeon winch, synthetic cable and additional use of high strength steel in the frame.

I had a great time with the family last year and would love to go this year but it looks like we are hitting Yosemite and Rubicon or Fordyce Creek instead. Maybe PWIM 2020.

Have fun guys and don't forget your spare tires.
