Re: '16 Steering Intermediate Shaft advise

maybe a PSC box but no Hydro? i dont know the true internal differences or if the lash is addressed with tighter meshing gears, but i assume anything is better then a factory distributed steering box. Im certainly in the same position as you, at 25k miles its just so slack..i hated it at 10k. i may ...

Greetings from SoFL - I'm an August owner, having just exited a much less comfy JKU - eager to learn the vehicle - 2019 PW ive owned two JKUs and one was an extremely built up rubicon 2016. you have entered a realm of inevitably greater excitement and less replacement parts if you drive and offroad...

Re: '16 Steering Intermediate Shaft advise

did you address the interior part of the shaft? look under the dash with a light, and look at the joint, see if the rubber isolator allows excessive slack when turning the wheel. EMF has an intermediate shaft bushing to remove this slack, and it certainly does to an extent. it will feel slightly sha...

Re: Tow/Haul Mode in Back Country

the best part about these hemis is the impressive engine braking. when driving aggressively, ill use 30%+ less braking when in tow mode. the truck is much more effective and will more often be in the gear you want. It shifts later, but faster. Way less lugging on the engine. the throttle is more con...

Re: Tow/Haul Mode in the Back Country

if you dont mind the harsh shifts, possibly louder exhaust, and sporty drive.... tow haul 100% of the time.

im 230lbs...thats enough of a reason to use tow/haul.

if your asking about when your offroad...not necessary, just shift to 5th to lockout 6th.

Re: 3rd Gen PW question

regular 2500s most likely will not have front locker factory winch is perfectly fine, but the factory thermal protection and power delivery may not be ideal-rewire it so many people hardwire their lockers anyway, but the swaybar is another factor..most go manual disco which is easy and cheap. and re...

Re: Does the Sway Bar Disconnect ever work?

The servo is spring loaded, so if the sway bar is in a bind when actuated the servo cycles and holds pressure on the disconnect mechanism until the first opportunity of free movement. The servo also has an indicator light circuit to confirm disconnect has occurred. sounds like ill need to find anot...

Re: Does the Sway Bar Disconnect ever work?

Standalone, electric sway bar disconnect with the flip of a switch. Currently testing the prototype on my truck. It will work on any SmartBar, PW or Jeep. Does not use the factory switch, OEM module will have to be secured to the frame, crossmember or engine compartment to retain locker function an...

tell me the 2019 PW hasnt grown on you, at least aesthetically, coupled with the actual capability?

if your buying a Gas HD...why not get a PW.
if your buying an Offroad work truck, why anything else?

The Autel rental is positively the best way to get this done, if your so inclined to read directions.

It was easy once you get the Code for your truck from the dealer...which clearly, is market and dealer dependent.

Re: Does the Sway Bar Disconnect ever work?

exactly lol sway bar disco isnt only usefull when rock crawling...its necessary on high grade fire roads, or any type of 18+MPH overlanding. with the Evo air release, you do still want to keep the stock module tucked under there so you dont throw codes. Yes, you need a switch, but plenty of places t...

mine worked fine...albeit, if 4low and under 18MPH is fine for you... That’s the thing, with the bypass you know the dog gear will mesh as soon as possible, instead of waiting for the ideal moment at which it has perfect clearance at perfect speeds. Yes you should take care when engaging and slowly roll away with a little turn in the wheel, but it’s locked in just a s...
