Re: New Rear Bumper?

Bring this thread back to life. I'm looking for a new rear bumper. I don't need extreme clearance, just something that can take a hit without folding like a pretzel like the factory bumper. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the build quality of the Chassis Unlimited’s Octane Series rear b...

Re: Locker Bypass

Do you get any warning lights or errors displayed on the dash when you activate them that way? What about the sway bar disconnect, did you hard wire that to a switch also?

Re: Locker Bypass

I have stated in the past I didn’t see a need for a bypass, but my smart bar had the plug corrod. And now that I did it, I love it. I see the appeal. It’s just nice to be in Moab on an obstacle and turn those t suckers on and off when I need them. Are you saying your lockers are hard wired to a swi...

Airlift Ultimate 5000 Airbags with Daystar cradles. There are two different installation writeups if you look for them. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk I second this setup. It's what I have and it works great. https://www.ramforum.com/media/untitled-2-of-4.25241/full https://www.ramforum.com/m...

Re: Kill-switch for electronic nannies

There is now a more $$$ option available from Z-Automotive.

https://zautomotive.com/product/tazer-ram/

It has some interesting features but I'm not crazy about having to leave it plug in to the OBD port to get them to work.

Re: What Exhaust?

Most people just replace the muffler with a straight thru type. If you like it loud you can replace the muffler with just pipe. Mufflex and Solo Performance make a muffler delete bolt-in pipe.

Use the app on this:
https://www.safe-xtract.com
This is the app that our recovery trainer uses for Colorado 4x4 Rescue and recovery .
Do they make a recovery kit for the PW? Their web site doesn't have a whole lot of info.

The diagnosis is bad lifters
So the question of the day is, Is this a design flaw of just a bad run of lifters?

Re: A Tale of Diagnostic Woe

Weird to see a chunk missing from the cam lobe. I wounder what would cause that? "It's a truck motor, that's just how they sound......" I'm trying to get the service writer to forward the list of parts they intend to replace. The cam and lifters is obvious. I'm mostly concerned about the oil control...

Re: Quick question on tire pressures

Yes on the door but why? No way the stock tires need 65PSI. Hitting any bump and especially off-road is like crashing into a brick wall. I have owned plenty of rigs weighing in at 5-5500lbs and 28-35lbs was perfect. No way a 7K rig needs 65lbs. Because they assume we are not smart enough to remembe...

Re: Portable Air Compressor

I just ordered a M240. It is currently on sale. ($180 shipped) https://www.specialopstools.com/air-armor-m240-portable-12-volt-tactical-air-compressor-kit/ I was going to get a Viair 440P but I like the hose that comes with the M240 better. Plus it is $70 cheaper. I thought about the Smittybuilt 27...

Haven’t figured out how to straighten out the bowing yet, though. Mine still look tweeked and sit a half inch higher than the bedside. Thinking about attaching some kind of angle iron to the bottom side to see if it will straighten them out. Do you have the RAM box organizer kit? I had to grind dow...

Re: Update

Does anyone know if they actually change anything, or do they just confirm it doesn't slip into gear and they are done? It was an inspection and a reflash of the BCM. I needed an TSB for uconnect done so I got the recall done at the same time. So they basically just try to put it in gear without pu...

I wasn't able to get it to work on my 2018 either but not surprised since the BCM programming has changed for 2018.
Worked for me. But I don’t have the keyless thing.
Hum, I don't have keyless entry either. I must be doing something wrong.
