Re: Any Pics of Hutchinson Wheels?

The 2 piece seem easier to do tire repair in the field. Are they? I would not be disassembling a wheel in the dirt. Tire repair kits can fix the tire from the outside. Only the big patches like you’d get a tire shop to install require removing the tire. If you get a flat from more than an easily re...

35s. What I’ve seen is 37 toyos on stock wheels will rub a bit. Parts of the suspension gets a bit polished, noting really major.

Re: Battery question

Does not happen if they are properly isolated. Mine are always isolated when the truck is off, unless I set the switch to combine them. I only combine them when off if I want to charge all three simultaneously on shore power. When the truck is running, I can choose isolated or combined. How do you ...

I didn't think the tailgate recall applied to 2018?
When did the line run out of the bad component? There is usually a whole bunch of mixed year models when the changes are pretty trivial.

Re: Recall done

I don't know how much I will use it, but I want the Hill Descent Control to work on my truck. That is a fix on the 2018 trucks with the cruise control recall. It is 1.5 hours to the nearest dealer. One won't return my messages. The other can't get me in for about a month. Wait until the parts for t...

They all have issues. Maybe you didn’t but “There’s no easy way to say this: Our long-term Nissan Titan XD Diesel was one of the most disappointing new vehicles we have evaluated in recent memory, a distinction highlighted by our truck’s serious mechanical issues and grounded in its general inabilit...

Re: New truck ordered 2018

There is build, then it goes to another building where things like the bedliner is installed (not sure what else) and then it waits for a train. Then it spends a few days or a week+ on the train to get unloaded and transfer to the next train in a week or two, then they unload it a few days after tha...

Re: PW Axle n Suspension Swap Question (& Locker Wiring)

There is a crazy Canadian who transplanted all the parts from a crashed PW to a Cummins. It works pretty well, but you’ll be nose heavy. He built a big AR steel front bumper and winch mount, as the winch won’t fit inside with the diesel.

Re: New truck ordered 2018

It took mine about 8-9 weeks to reach the dealer iirc, though it took me 4 more weeks to pick it up in Boise. Once it is built it can take a long time to get to the dealer. If you are having the dealer install sliders or something like that, it takes extra time. There is also a several week lead tim...

There is a code upgrade for the entertainment system that you should have automatically loaded. Until my truck loaded that it did stuff like that. But that won’t cover all the issues.

I’ve heard of guys who will drive your vehicle onto and out of the beach for you or tow you out if you do it. It’s like 10 bucks to drive it or 250 to pull you out.

Re: What did you pay for your latest Gen PW

I'm curious if anyone has used more "structured" purchasing processes such as Costco for their PW's? -Given the relative ease by which the PW's are negotiated down things like Costco don't make sense for PW's? I used Costco for another vehicle recently and thought the process was super stress-free ...

Someone else here is running Skyjackers too. A lot of us on this forum, and almost everyone at PWIM was running Thuren's stuff. Dude knows these trucks. Best bang for the buck, and best damn service. Seriously, Don takes care of folks. I appreciate that. I'm running Kings now, but I looked at these...

Re: 37x12.5 on AEV Saltas – metal trimming or liner only (2018)?

Exactly what I'm hoping for! I went with the AEV wheel because they state it will allow fitment of 37s, and they didn't mention cutting being required. Also glad I went with the 12.5 width over the 13.5. The tires are sitting at Discount Tire waiting for me, and the wheels should arrive today by Fe...

We wheel pretty hard, and no one torn up a truck at Power Wagons in moab running 37’s.
Yeah, there was some polish on a suspension component from rubbing at full lock, but it was just polishing, no significant issues.

The Thuren kits are amazing. I just don’t have $3.5k for the full kit, haven’t ridden in a truck with significantly less expensive overlanders.
