Re: A Tale of Diagnostic Woe

Uh, they put known bad parts back in a customers vehicle and lied to the customer on the paperwork? Hmm, who else did they lie to?

Re: Ram Rebel TRX Concept

They could offer a factory thuren suspension upgrade on the power wagon. Not that I expect them to do so, but they could. I understand that a bunch of the "standard" options are in fact installed off the production line, like the bedliner.

Re: 37" tires with 4.10 for those who do have

Hit up Chris Sisseck over on offroad power wagon. As much as you disdain FB, he's been through his 2016 twice now. First with Nitro gears, then Yukon's. He literally did a full swap on the ground next to my trailer in Moab. Chris will know. Used to be a service tech. Helped us all get part numbers ...

I've got Carli in the front and purple cranium in the back. Other people have purple cranium front & rear, both seem to work.

Re: If you own a 2015 PW and it's hesitating/surging...

The only thing the dealer said flat out would blow the warranty was turbocharging or supercharging the truck, but I should call before doing anything major to check. Most everything most people want to do was OK, but there were a few things that people had done that were issues.

Re: 37" tires with 4.10 for those who do have

It was, iirc, $2200 in parts and shipping when the front diff ring gear grenaded and took out a locker in the process in Moab. The owner who fixed that in an open field suggested using Yukon

It was attached, but not tensioned. You should follow the tensioning instructions before you need it.

Those look like a good low-price alternative to the ARB 9000s.
The drawback is that the powerwagon winch can exceed the breaking strength when you start getting mechanical advantage from a series of snatch blocks.

Re: Ram Rebel TRX Concept

They actually are going to build it! Ram Rebel TRX confirmed for production In their financial presentation they point out that Raptors are really expensive and sell like mad, and they want that money. See page 12. RAPTOR EFFECT AVERAGE TRANSACTION PRICE IS $71K $28K ABOVE FORD AVERAGE 2017 SALES 23...

Re: More than 4 TPMS sensors?

Over a hundred miles. It's hard coded for the sensors. It only recognizes those 4 sensors and requires reprogramming to change a sensor out. Once I had another duracrap and the stock wheel mounted it picked up before I got out of the parking lot.

More than 4 TPMS sensors?

So after driving around on the spare for a day it bothered me that there was no TPMS sensor. I was assured by the tire guy who replaced my trashed duracrap that he could install a TPMS in the spare and it would work. Wrong, didn't work. Dealer tech and FCA support told me "According to available inf...

Re: DIY not-a-Power Tank

The burst disk going doesn't necessarily mean the tank got overpressurized, it means the burst disk blew. Typically you'd have to stick it in a fire to get it hot enough to blow the burst disk. But if your disk is 4 standard deviations from what it's supposed to be then it can just blow out for pret...

Re: DIY not-a-Power Tank

Maybe I'm being too cautious, but I'd want some kind of cage/protection around that stem. No? People I know who have had issues in vehicles with scuba tanks (which are more like 3000-4000 PSI) have mostly involved the burst disk functioning and blowing out windows etc. (Other than than one involvin...

The BLM has a long history of doing illegal stuff and making up reasons to do what they want. The recent set of trials showed that clearly. Along with a willingness to lie under oath.

In theory at least, there are extension rails I can mount on my diamondback HD bed cover to carry that sort of ATV on the cover. As I don’t have an ATV it’s probably going to stay theoretical.

Re: Rock sliders

I had a quote from a small local fab shop of $750 for sliders on my Avalanche. This included install. Can't compare them to the ones on my PW because I didn't go forward with them, but they had good reviews. The high end commercial shop in town (which mostly builds custom commercial truck bodies and...
