Re: Antifreeze smell

If you take the o-ring into an industrial o-ring shop they should be able to get one out of stock unless it’s really weird. There are only so many sizes, hardness and thicknesses that people use.

Depends on why the mount broke. Is it a manufacturing defect or overload?

You can fit 40's on -32 wheels with just a set of Thuren front coils without any rubbing. Just a little trimming required.

Unless you like doing transmission repair and similar heavy work in your garage and have another reliable vehicle there comes a time when most people say “enough!”. When that is depends on the person.

Re: What came with your 2018

Mine came with 2 keys remotes. The remote and the hook were in the passenger side floor box, the winch cable still had the factory ties on it, it was a pain to remove to put in the synthetic line. The sliders, the diff covers and the bed cover were installed.

Re: Correct Recovery?

I prefer the Columbus McKinnon or Crosby shackles over “off-road” hardware. Iirc, the 12.5 ton alloy shackle will break at >50 tons. The off-road stuff is usually specified at 50% of breaking strength. And shock loading starts at 200% of the load. The soft shackles are also a possibly. Not much chea...

Re: Added 37” BFG KO2s to my 2018

The biggest consideration of 35s vs 37s is where are you gonna put the 37 spare as it won't fit in stock location. I've thought about that. I'd love to do a vertical mount on the bed cover, one one each edge next to the Ram boxes. I think if I elevated the tire about 2" off the bad the doors wold b...

Re: Sliders

If you take the diy approach, just be careful if you decide to weld the sliders to the frame. Apparently the hydroformed steel is sensitive to welding and requires a specific approach. I can’t think where I dug it up last exactly, but ram has released literature detailing their preferred methods to...

If you want WK sliders hold tight, they're going to be one of our title sponsors for PWIM and we're working out a discount. Should finalize this week.
I don't suppose any suspension sponsors might do that too?

It was off on mine until I turned it on via the control panel. It pretty much only goes on when I’m coasting.

Have fun

And if you are still driving stock tires, I found there were no replacement duratrashes in Moab last year after I destroyed one. Or even anything close that would fit on a stock wheel.

Re: Sliders

Aluminess sliders are steel. The problem with them is that they mount to the body just like step bars. Maybe OK for incidental bump protection, but not OK for hard hits and intentional use. The body mount can be strong enough. There is the hardcore Jeep trick where you cut away the rocker panels an...

This is sounding very interesting. I don't think the Ram 2500 is listed in the list of supported vehicles, but I assume it's wrong.
