Re: 2012 New to Me!

I really like the topper so far. The visibility is very good, pretty normal for a topper. There are only 2 things I think could be improved. The back window handle seems like it may be prone to failure, and the side vent windows are finicky about closing. The mechanism seems a little weak. Other tha...

Re: Tire Feedback

I got to take my Cooper STT Pro's out yesterday for a little trip. They worked very well on gravel, rock, and a small amount of mud. I hit a few trails outside town, and I had a great day. The tires are very nice riding. They are a little stiffer than my Duratracs, but they are not noticeably noisie...

Re: 2012 New to Me!

Got the Thuren parts (Track Bar and Short Arms) put on this weekend. Had it aligned to Thuren specs, and the truck is running very nicely. I did not notice much difference in the feel of the suspension, but I have not done any hard driving with it yet. My suspension was not worn out yet either. Howe...

Re: Towing Capacity

Have fun with it. I just switched to 35's and mine still pulls fine. It does lug a little more, but as long as you're not trying to set speed records, the truck will pull. Glad to hear you got a nice setup.

Re: 2012 New to Me!

Well, it did not take long for me to ditch my 33's. I only put about 8,000 miles on the Duratracs, and they worked great. However, I made the mistake of joining this forum, and now I am hooked on working on my truck. We bought a new camper this summer that has a GVWR of 7,600lbs. I towed it across C...

Re: Towing Capacity

I had a smaller trailer and moved to one with a GVWR of 7,600lbs this year. It is a Coachman Freedom Express. I live in Colorado and we tow it around everywhere. I made a trip out to Leadville with full water, kids, dogs, and full load etc. I use an Andersen weight distribution hitch. To give you so...

Gasoline Additive P.i. (Performance Improver)

APICN.jpg AMSOIL P.i. improved fuel economy by reducing fuel injector deposits, intake valve deposits and combustion chamber deposits in 100% of the vehicles tested. It is formulat- ed for both gasoline direct injected (GDI) and port fuel injected engines. I currently use this on my truck and my wi...

New Severe Gear Oil Package

SVOPK.jpg Amsoil's gear lube is the first product I began using on my truck, and it has been outstanding! Now they are offering this same product in 75W-90 and 75W-140 gear lube in this new package which allows the user to squeeze the oil into the differential without needing a pump! I have always ...

Re: The Cactus Red mod thread.

I have been looking at those Outdoor RV trailers. How do you like it so far? Do you feel like it is too much for the PW? I live in CO, and I would like to get a camper similar in size to yours, so I wanted to know if you felt like it was a good combo?

Re: 2012 New to Me!

So far it has been pretty good. I think after driving the same engine in the 1500 with the 8 speed transmission and a 3.92 gave me a different perspective of how fast the truck should be. This one definitely feels much heavier driving, but it is about 1,000lbs more according to the scales. I haven't...

Re: 2012 New to Me!

Did a full ATF fluid exchange today. I put in the Signature Series ATF-4 from Amsoil. The truck seems a bit smoother on shifts etc. I was pretty happy with the trip out to Moab this month. I took the family out for spring break and pulled my 5,000lb trailer as well. The truck did ok, but it was a li...
