Re: 2012 wagon

2012 is a great year! I may be biased because I love mine. I also have some Thuren parts and a Volant CAI.

Welcome to the club! These guys are the best, and there is a wealth of info on this forum.

Re: New Severe Gear Oil Package

I have had a few customers who recently changed their gear oil using these packages, and they both spoke very highly of them. The one said it was the cleanest diff fluid change he has performed. He recently changed all of his fluids to Amsoil, and he told me these packages were the best part of the ...

Re: Good gasket for diffs?

Amsoil Severe Gear is my pick for fluid. I use the stock gasket that came with the truck. It was in perfect condition when I changed mine last year. I will probably change the oil this year to see how it is doing. If it looks good I will try a 2 year interval. If you need the Amsoil, send me a pm.

Re: Cooper or Maxxis?

I got some of the STT Pros on my truck this year, and so far they have been outstanding. I have 315 70 R17 size, and I replaced the control arms on my 2012. They have been really good off road. I am looking forward to taking them into the woods hunting this fall. I am looking to test out the mud/sno...

Re: 2012 New to Me!

I really like the topper so far. The visibility is very good, pretty normal for a topper. There are only 2 things I think could be improved. The back window handle seems like it may be prone to failure, and the side vent windows are finicky about closing. The mechanism seems a little weak. Other tha...

Re: Tire Feedback

I got to take my Cooper STT Pro's out yesterday for a little trip. They worked very well on gravel, rock, and a small amount of mud. I hit a few trails outside town, and I had a great day. The tires are very nice riding. They are a little stiffer than my Duratracs, but they are not noticeably noisie...

Re: 2012 New to Me!

Got the Thuren parts (Track Bar and Short Arms) put on this weekend. Had it aligned to Thuren specs, and the truck is running very nicely. I did not notice much difference in the feel of the suspension, but I have not done any hard driving with it yet. My suspension was not worn out yet either. Howe...

Re: Towing Capacity

Have fun with it. I just switched to 35's and mine still pulls fine. It does lug a little more, but as long as you're not trying to set speed records, the truck will pull. Glad to hear you got a nice setup.

Re: 2012 New to Me!

Well, it did not take long for me to ditch my 33's. I only put about 8,000 miles on the Duratracs, and they worked great. However, I made the mistake of joining this forum, and now I am hooked on working on my truck. We bought a new camper this summer that has a GVWR of 7,600lbs. I towed it across C...

Re: Towing Capacity

I had a smaller trailer and moved to one with a GVWR of 7,600lbs this year. It is a Coachman Freedom Express. I live in Colorado and we tow it around everywhere. I made a trip out to Leadville with full water, kids, dogs, and full load etc. I use an Andersen weight distribution hitch. To give you so...

Gasoline Additive P.i. (Performance Improver)

APICN.jpg AMSOIL P.i. improved fuel economy by reducing fuel injector deposits, intake valve deposits and combustion chamber deposits in 100% of the vehicles tested. It is formulat- ed for both gasoline direct injected (GDI) and port fuel injected engines. I currently use this on my truck and my wi...

New Severe Gear Oil Package

SVOPK.jpg Amsoil's gear lube is the first product I began using on my truck, and it has been outstanding! Now they are offering this same product in 75W-90 and 75W-140 gear lube in this new package which allows the user to squeeze the oil into the differential without needing a pump! I have always ...
