Re: Towing Capacity

I had a smaller trailer and moved to one with a GVWR of 7,600lbs this year. It is a Coachman Freedom Express. I live in Colorado and we tow it around everywhere. I made a trip out to Leadville with full water, kids, dogs, and full load etc. I use an Andersen weight distribution hitch. To give you so...

Gasoline Additive P.i. (Performance Improver)

APICN.jpg AMSOIL P.i. improved fuel economy by reducing fuel injector deposits, intake valve deposits and combustion chamber deposits in 100% of the vehicles tested. It is formulat- ed for both gasoline direct injected (GDI) and port fuel injected engines. I currently use this on my truck and my wi...

New Severe Gear Oil Package

SVOPK.jpg Amsoil's gear lube is the first product I began using on my truck, and it has been outstanding! Now they are offering this same product in 75W-90 and 75W-140 gear lube in this new package which allows the user to squeeze the oil into the differential without needing a pump! I have always ...

Winch Mob, My name is Gar Haugo. I am a fellow Power Wagon owner, and I am also an Independent Amsoil Dealer. I started using Amsoil products with my Power Wagon when I switched over to the Severe Gear Oil in both differentials. Since then I have switched all my vehicles over to Amsoil products, and...

Re: The Cactus Red mod thread.

I have been looking at those Outdoor RV trailers. How do you like it so far? Do you feel like it is too much for the PW? I live in CO, and I would like to get a camper similar in size to yours, so I wanted to know if you felt like it was a good combo?

Re: 2012 New to Me!

So far it has been pretty good. I think after driving the same engine in the 1500 with the 8 speed transmission and a 3.92 gave me a different perspective of how fast the truck should be. This one definitely feels much heavier driving, but it is about 1,000lbs more according to the scales. I haven't...

Re: 2012 New to Me!

Did a full ATF fluid exchange today. I put in the Signature Series ATF-4 from Amsoil. The truck seems a bit smoother on shifts etc. I was pretty happy with the trip out to Moab this month. I took the family out for spring break and pulled my 5,000lb trailer as well. The truck did ok, but it was a li...

Re: 2012 New to Me!

Changed my oil over to Amsoil 5w30 Signature Series for my upcoming trip to Moab. My truck runs smoother now especially on start up and now there is no tick! I am going to switch my transmission fluid over to the Amsoil Signature Series ATF next. Just need to figure out how to flush it all without m...

Re: Nitrogen in tires???

We ran them with nitrogen at work, and my wife's car used to have it. It never made much of a difference. It was marginally better at keeping a stable pressure. I would just check them once and a while when you get big temp changes.

I would take a Power Wagon for work anyway. Too bad I work in town and the Sheriff's deputies work in the sticks. I would love to have one for work!

Re: 2012 New to Me!

Forgot to mention, I installed my DodgeOffroad steering brace this afternoon. It was not to bad given my relative novice mechanical abilities. I really enjoy working on this truck, and I look forward to getting better at it. My steering was pretty good to begin with, but this made it feel just like ...

Re: 2012 New to Me!

Thanks. I really like the color too. I had a K&N CAI on my 1500 with the Hemi, and it was quite loud if you got on the skinny pedal. When I towed my camper in the mountains, it was pretty loud too. Going up some of the passes out here was a little annoying. So far, the Volant one is a MikeKey descri...

5W20 or 5W30 for 5.7 Wagons

First, let me start by saying I have a 2012 PW with the 5.7 Hemi. I previously had a 2015 and 2004 1500's with the 5.7 Hemi. I ran 5w30 in the 2004 which was the spec oil at the time. When I got the 2015, it was 5w20. I live in Colorado, and I drive and tow at higher elevations. The oil cap on my cu...

Re: 2012 New to Me!

Installed a Volant CAI with a Donaldson PowerCore dry filter today. It is not much louder than the stock box, but it feels like it is a bit smoother and faster on acceleration. It is very nice looking too! Picked up a DodgeOffRoad steering brace that I will try to install when I get a chance. I am s...

Re: New Equipment

Have you ever seen anyone offer the 2012 Red/Black decals in a different color? I was wanting to replace all the red on my 2012 with Blue logos. I was going to go for a "thin blue line" theme with my black truck. I talked to a body wrap place and they were going to look for similar fonts etc. Let me...

Good to hear some more tanker stories. I spent my time as a hatch plug in my M1A1 back years ago. I miss those beasts, but they are a bear to get out when you manage to get one stuck!
