drained the factory oil at about 1k mi to get out any debris that may of been in there. refilled with regular 80w90 and its working fine after 13k. nothing strange at all.
many of the oils are predosed with friction modifiers so check the bottle

Re: Wheel spacers on stock rims and 35's :))
 Wheel spacers are always a bad idea! The people that use wheel spacers are the same ones that complain about their Unit Bearings failing... And yes - post up pics of some of those Mall Crawlers  your better off not saying anything. then you can laugh when their wheel snaps off on the hi...

it sounds like your not sure its the pumps fault at this point. loose ground the first time but dealer didnt realize that until after they changed the pump ? now something is acting up again only after the dealer had their hands on it. the first pump may of been just fine but replaced because of mis...

Re: 14+ 5.13 Gears, Noisy?
sounds like that shop was more specialized in cars, perhaps race cars. i would like to hear their reasoning for gears beyond 4.10 being noisy as it makes zero sense. likely just a forwarning to cover their ass when they dont do the job right while im not a mechanic by trade, my dad was ase master me...

Re: 14+ 5.13 Gears, Noisy?
ya some are engraved. nitros are. i have speculation why aam isnt engrave but its just speculation. maybe the person making your gears just dropped the ball and didnt paint them. my fronts were perfectly legible with white. rear did have signs of yellow but portions had been washed away. i suspect i...

the large diam aluminum driveshafts have alot of bending and torsion strength but almost no impact resistance. if your wanting to use a more impact resitant shaft so you can crash it on boulders, youll likely just break the tailshaft off the tcase

Re: 14+ 5.13 Gears, Noisy?
steve it almost sounds like your pointing fingers at the gears when clearly the setup was all wrong from the get go. i can assure you aam gears are top qaulity from usa and /or mexico. i dont know why they include that instruction sheet with the gears, it could confuse a person if theyre not familia...

Re: 14+ 5.13 Gears, Noisy?
i havent got my gears installed yet (been lazy and working on other projects) so i cant comment on any noise but the factory installed gears are dead silent. ive looked at both 4.10 and 5.13 gears but didnt pay attention to if one was 2cut and the other 5cut. supposedly the 2cut is quieter. from the...

if its about the same procedure as a dakota then lifting the bed may be far easier. i did a dokata myself by lifting bed about 8in off the frame rails. was fairly easy job actually.

Re: Anybody build a driveline protection solution that works?
the lower gawr in the front is because the soft springs. i suspect the rating of the axle itself is 5000 or possibly 5500. it could use a 7000 lb axle but would still be limited to less than 5000 because the springs

Re: Anybody build a driveline protection solution that works?
some of what they do makes little sense. parts of the front axle housing is specific to pw. the pumpkin and passenger side connecting tube. why would they go to this trouble and not standardise axles across the board. pw doesnt need 6k lb rated axle but why spend the additional time, money and resou...

Re: Anybody build a driveline protection solution that works?
All 2500/3500 trucks have the changes underneath. Power wagons aren’t special variants. New front axle casting, new rear axle casting, larger rear axle tubes, different diff cover patterns (existing diff guards won’t fit the new trucks), new transfer case, new Rzeppa front driveshaft, new rear driv...

why are you using centramatics? honestly i would try and get them out of there as theyre only covering a problem. check road force and see where your at now. hopefully not around 30lb. probly have to do match mount. maybe even dismount then some rim and tire swapping. 15lb is good if you can manage ...
