Re: Truck Coming in April - Will have 33s/Wheels/Grill

I think ram did a great job ditching all the chrome. makes it look like a completely different and better truck imo. ford guys are crying every day because they have to pull all their chrome off and get it painted hahaha

Re: springs question

I get what your saying but this is new '17 truck. once I took the cross caster out, the rear pretty much leveled out side to side. even though there wasn't hardly much cross caster to begin with. after that it was just the left front corner that was still low. steering box and battery is in that cor...

Re: springs question

if everything is as it should be then the smartbar should lock when the end of its arms are parallel laterally with the frame. the axle should be parallel at this time as well. I don't have much explanation why the driver front corner was low. steering box and battery are only things there but why w...

Re: springs question

figured I would update this. my ocd wouldn't let me forget the driver side was leaning, so I kept trying to figure out what the hell was causing it. 1/2" just seemed excessive. my last '16 truck was within a 1/8" or less, side to side. so why should this '17 be any different is what I wanted to know...

Re: Suspension question...again

Time to truss that axle. Not yet! But it's definitely in the cards for it down the road. I don't plan to beat on it as hard as some of the DTX guys do (thats what my Ranger is for) but it's definitely hard to keep your foot out of it when you're in the dirt lol. The truss is cheap insuranc...

Re: Thuren 3.0 KING on 2018 Powerwagon!

did some searching but never found days and days of bent axles like i was told i would find. but my searching isnt done yet. found just a few stories so far but it seemed like most of them were related to the front axles in '13 and older trucks. hmm

Re: Update

havent been bothered with updates but got recall notice for the transmission might let the vehicle roll away. maybe ram and ford can put all their brilliance together and make a shift lever that stays in park

Re: Thuren 3.0 KING on 2018 Powerwagon!

whats the truss for. one of the magazines was jumping a pw and didnt mention any problem Yeah there’s never a problem when: - it’s free - you don’t have to maintain it - you don’t have it long enough to know you completely fucked the axle The new trucks can’t take the beating the older trucks could...

Re: Thuren 3.0 KING on 2018 Powerwagon!

you would think the new 9.25 would be plenty strong with all the extra ribbing and large tubes but i dont do extreme offroad so i wouldnt know. if ram put a smaller knuckle magna steyr in the 2500 im sure the aftermarket would catch up pretty fast. if the 2500 capacity increases in 2020 like some ru...

im sure youve seen the new 1500 that was unvieled recently. all the chrome isnt my thing but the sport trim with everything color matched looks sharp imo. anyways is there any credible info on what direction the new 2500 is going ? with its running gear still fairly new i wonder if ram will carry th...

Re: Steering issue

ive checked these newer trucks with stock suspension and the axle is pretty centered on the ones ive seen .within 1/8" or so. be sure the cab is sitting straight on the frame or it will appear the axle is shifted. i would take axle lateral measurments from the frame but thats just me another thing t...

Re: Why are there so many newer PWs being traded in so early

ya ive known people that needed to have new vehicles every couple years. what ever floats their boat i know some people dont like the grill or big tailgate letters on the 17 but i like it and since all the chrome is gone it kind of has a sport trim appearance which i really like so i had to get one....

Re: Why are there so many newer PWs being traded in so early

people trade vehicles for numerous reasons. maybe they cant afford it anymore. maybe they upgraded their travel trailer and its far heavier. maybe they experienced alot of mechanical problems. maybe they got in over their head and its more vehicle than they need. list goes on and on i traded a nearl...

Re: 2017 Wandering/Pulling to Right

Update. 6000 miles now and still "pulls" technician who drove it calls it a wander. I have had three independent shops check alignment and two different dealers....all within specs. they tell me its suppose to drive like a tractor not the Ram 1500 it replaced. One thing to note is every copy of the...

Re: 2010 Rear Pinion Seal

i see you came to your senses alittle bit and edited your comment to a hour. if he doesnt have a strong airgun he'll burn up 30min just dropping the driveline and try to get the nut undone with a breakerbar. and im not sure a 1/2" drive wouldnt break. i used 3/4" drive 21" long with a short cheater ...

because i didnt pull the carrier out ? haha i figured you would say something that stupid. just like you asked several times if i measured how much torq to get the nut off. sounds like you never worked on a crush sleeve design and your comments show it

Re: 2010 Rear Pinion Seal

if you plan to do the job half way correct youll never get it in 30min. take that to the bank. but it all depends how many corners you want to cut. if you smoke the r&p or any bearings your talking big bucks to fix it

Re: 2010 Rear Pinion Seal

30min no way in hell you have it done. and you better have a big ass breaker bar or a strong impact gun to get the nut loose. you can use a new nut but have a strong impact ready. other wise just put some marks and reuse the old nut with Loctite. you wont find a torq spec because there is no torq sp...
