Re: Radiator Hoses: To Change Or Not?

everything works fine until it doesnt. rubber degrades over time and at 15yr they could blow at any time and leave you stranded, and a towing bill, and alot of grief. most people wait until theyre stranded. dont be like most people my 04 tacoma rarely is driven but i changed out the timing belt, wat...

Re: Oil filter question (different part #)

Purolator makes many of the Mopar oil filters the Walmart filters are the same as from the dealer. they were both bought on basically the same day but maybe one was a older version because they werent identical. ive got 2 purolators with same part # for the wagon, that i bought same day from differ...

Re: Oil filter question (different part #)

one time i bought a bunch of different filters to compare. seems the mopar looked identical to one of the purolators from what i remember. still have them all in a box i think. walmart sells mopars and it seemed like it was slightly different than the dealer version. napas are wix. i use mopar from ...

Re: Locker Bypass Rebirth

blm i had a question on the bypass. using it yesterday in 4hi the rear locked as normal. after turning the knob to front /rear at a very slow speed the front seemed to lock as normal but there was a rapid clicking sound from the front passenger side, presumably under the hood where the box is locate...

Re: A/C Vacuum Leak? Blend Doors?

when you get hard in the pedal going up hill the change in manifold pressure caused the vent doors to close then they would open when you let off the pedal. When this occurred, did the air volume at the dash vents change? When mine blows hot, I get the same volume of air but it's at a higher temper...

Re: A/C Vacuum Leak? Blend Doors?

i had a older dakota with vent door that had a mind of their own. when you get hard in the pedal going up hill the change in manifold pressure caused the vent doors to close then they would open when you let off the pedal. somewhere in the little vaccum lines there must of been a leak but i never bo...

Re: Cooper or Maxxis?

I've heard great things about Maxxis tires, although I have no personal experience with them. after 600mi this is what i have to say. lug spacing, particularly in the center i think, makes them have a rumble strip feeling even at low speed which also has a vibration to go with it that can make your...

Re: Upgrading to 35’s

autel isnt obsolete and works just as well as anything else for resetting tpms. but ya , renting one doesnt make sense if your going to the dealer every week and have to keep changing the tpms

Re: Upgrading to 35’s

ive never used a scanner in my life and it still only took me about 10min with the autel. even a monkey could do it. getting the pin was easy for me. went in the dealer with truck registration and driver liscense. less than 10min i was out the door with the pin

Re: Upgrading to 35’s

tpms warning lights get annoying very fast. i reset my pressures to 40psi with a autel that i rented from a guy on one of the ram forums. seems like he charged about $100 but dont quote me. was a 10min job. havent yet recalibrated the speedo for the larger tires, not sure when or if i ever will, got...

Re: Locker Bypass Rebirth

im well aware the dogs must be in the right position for it to lock. with the stock setup my front took a while to lock. may of been a time or two that it never would lock. with the blm bypass everything locks right away and theres no tcase position or speed governors. well worth the $450 in my book

the internet can be a great place for info but it also is full of urban legend, started by people that havent a clue what theyre talking about. sifting through the muck can be difficult. i dont recall one thread about death wobble on the gen4 trucks, but the running gear is almost completely differe...

put these tires on the other day. not much to say so far but i read they dont pick up rocks and its true. went few miles on dirt roads and they dont throw rocks on the doors like other tires.

Re: Antifreeze smell

well i had few days off work so i tore into the thermo housing. good news and bad. its not even remotely a common oring. ive never seen anything like it. oh and the groove in the housing is tapered and rectangular shape so a common symmetrical oring likely wouldnt work. maybe somewhere in some type ...
