Re: Tire Feedback
New wheels, New Tires, Centramatics inbound... Definitely interested in feedback on the Centramatics. I was considering them but decided to wait and see how the STT Pros balanced out conventionally. A dynamic balancer like that makes sense to me though on an off-road vehicle. My STT Pros took 2oz o...

Re: Alternate approach to get truck PIN?
They are obviously not understanding what you are asking for. Each truck has its own 4-digit PIN for certain changes like the TPMS thresholds. I went into my dealer and they tried to tell me there was an FCA memo that required a $25 charge for it. At that moment I left because I didn't have time to ...

Re: New Rear Bumper?
Damn it! I really want Expedition One to get their act together because that is the only bumper I've seen that really solves the issue of me not wanting a 37" spare taking up my bed space. One of the main reasons I'm still holding off on getting 37s and may give in and get 35s. :-( Sent from my Moto...

Yep. My cruise control intermittently won't turn on when I push the button. Several miles down the road I'll give the button another try and sure enough it is back and ready to cruise. :-/

Re: Recovery calculations, math made simple
So I bit the bullet and bought the good stuff to base my recovery kit on. I have the big ARB snatch block, two 16t WLL Skookum shackles, two Bubba Rope Gator Jaw Pro soft shackles, a 30k lb tow strap (Rhino USA), 8ft 30k lb tree saver, and a couple ARB line damper skirt thingies. I probably should h...

I ended up buying the big ARB snatch block. I like knowing I have the right gear for the job if a situation arises. Thanks for the help here guys.

Re: Dethloff Mfg - Rack Owners
Well of course I need to get in on this thread right behind Mike since I consider his truck my beta tester. ;-) I love my Dethloff rack. There were a few changes made from Mike's prototype to my released version. I really like how I ended up mounting my tent also. Now I need Marcus to build me some ...

Re: Snatch/yarding block differences?
I'd like to bring up an oldie here as I'm looking for a snatch block to add to my recovery gear. I'm looking at this guy: Ranger 6" Bail Snatch Block Hoist Rigging Shackle Pulley with Grease Fitting by Ultranger (Max 16 Tons 36,000 LBs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072JPFG9R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_SbmuBbR...

That's is exactly the problem replacing stock wheels. Also the fact that most aftermarket wheels are cast instead of forged. I really want my wheels to be black though. Have heard mixed opinions on whether or not it is ok to powder coat our stock forged wheels. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Ta...

Same for me. Carli front guard, with no install issues, and Purple Cranium rear guard on a 16' PW.

How much "better" do you consider the stock wheels being forged compared to a quality cast aftermarket wheel?

Re: Wheels: OEM vs Aftermarket
Did some research and also learned that only the optional H2 wheels were Alcoa forged. The standard wheels that you see a lot for sale are cast. They do have the nice +18 off-set though. Saw a pic of a set using the Ram center caps too and it looked pretty sharp. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using T...

Re: Wheels: OEM vs Aftermarket
Mostly just being OCD and anal. Also, I want to go to black wheels as I add items like your bumpers ;-) ,rock sliders, and bed rack in black. Basically I'm minimizing the amount chrome on my truck so it is just a subtle accent since I don't want to go through the trouble of full delete and deal with...

Re: Wheels: OEM vs Aftermarket
Damn it! Such a hard decision. I with the stock wheels were a better off-set for 37s. Not sure I like the looks of H2 wheels. Would prefer forged but the price is crazy! $750ea for those Walker Evans forged beadlocks. Doh!

Re: Wheels: OEM vs Aftermarket
Are most beadlocks like the Hutchinson's typically forged? Security of beadlocks or not and durability of forged/cast seem to be two different things right? Since Centerline is no more, what other companies do 17" forged wheels with proper off-set and lug pattern for our trucks? Sent from my Moto G ...

Re: Wheels: OEM vs Aftermarket
So none of these aftermarket wheels that claim to be off-road wheels have this same bead retention? I would like to see what our wheels look like. Has to be pics from guys who have swapped wheels/tires. How big of a lip is it?

Freaking awesome Mike! I love it! You are building my prototype. I'm definitely buying Marcus's bed rack and pan/tran guard and eagerly awaiting his front and rear bumpers and rock sliders. I also need to figure out how to afford the Thuren goodies and 37s in there also. Doh! Sent from my Moto G (5)...

Re: Wheels: OEM vs Aftermarket
Thanks to all for the input. Starting to like the idea of the Hutchinson's again except the $$$. I will pay for quality and function usually though. For aftermarket non-beadlocks, are there others that have the similar inner bead lip thing that supposedly our stock wheels have? When I was surfing th...

Re: Wheels: OEM vs Aftermarket
Thanks Colibri. I have read mixed reviews about Balance Beads. Things like excessive heat build up and adding the weight at the outer circumference, especially on oversized tires like 37s, instead of closer to the center. I suppose balance beads would be better at adjusting for tire ware though righ...

Wheels: OEM vs Aftermarket
So I know the recommended off-set for running 37s is +18 to +25mm. I know you can use the OEM wheels with minimal rubbing after a little trimming. Problem is I want black wheels when I make the move to 37s but I am very much a function first, looks second person. That being said, I still want my $50...

New Belgium tour definitely a must. Also must hit up Funkwerks, Equinox, and Odell amongst others. We are big craft beer drinkers. All our vacations to civilized locations tend to revolve around breweries. Lol!
