Re: Bf Goodrich Ko2 tread excessive tread wear

KO2’s don’t do well under heavy vehicles like these. That is oddly fast, make sure you’re running enough pressure in your tires and you aren’t overheating them.

I’ve run the PowerStops and like them. I haven’t tried the EBC’s yet.

Re: Swaybar moved to passenger side?

Yeah it could be a few things. It really didn’t bother me or cause issues for 210,000 miles. My SmartBar seals were gone, the thing was so worn it flopped like a fish, but it worked fine. I hate the smartbar. One of the best parts of the Cummins is that it doesn’t have that stupid thing....

Re: Swaybar moved to passenger side?

It’s probably due to your axle not being centered, and the swaybar links pushing the bar over as you drive. If that’s the case it’s a side affect of a trackbar system where with your lift the axle doesn’t stay dead-center to the frame. My truck did the Ana Erving but it was never an issue.

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build

The centering of the axle will always depend on the height of the frame over the axle, so if you see the truck on a slope or with different weight distribution it will change the position of the axle. If you had everything installed and drove it and on level ground you knew where the axle was, and t...

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build

The trackbar is not intended to center the axle. The length of the trackbar must be set with the cool springs and bump stops removed and the frame set on the axle. If you lengthen the trackbar too much you will have physical collision between frame and axle components, generally the trackbar bracket...

Re: Noticed my 2019 universal joints dont have clips 2019?

There are no pins in a u-joint assembly. Rather, what appears to be a pin in there is an injection sprue. When you need to replace them, you melt the plastic and remove the joint, then the new joints use traditional circlips to retain them.

I love Toyo but I need to see these be a big improvement over the AT II before I would consider them over my STT Max’s. The AT II is about the most disappointing tire Toyo makes.

Re: Anybody build a driveline protection solution that works?

I have a 2019 PW parked next to a 2019 2500 Cummins. The Cummins has an all new rear axle. The PW has what appears to be the same axle as the previous years. I have not checked the fronts. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200312/8c1257e653ce310d3573aee30f458adf.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com...

Re: PW swaying

Probably bad shocks. That will definitely do it. Rear trackbar makes the rear wiggle, it doesn’t make it feel like a boat or loose. The ‘kicker’ shock as it’s being called is an anti-hop shock and has almost zero effect on suspension handling. It exists to damp the roll of the axle under heavy throt...

Re: Power Wagons in Moab 2020 - May 4th - May 8th - Registration Open

Not too much issue with topper flex. I think it should be fine. 37’s make Moab a different game. I ran 37’s and no sliders last year on a 3” lift and only scraped the underside of the cab once on an optional line. On 33’s you’ll scrape a lot but shouldn’t cause any harm. 37’s are really where the ma...

Wheel Bearing/Hub Recommendation

SKF is OEM. It is the highest quality unit bearing I know of. I do not consider free spins to be an upgrade. They will never pay for themselves with a negligible fuel savings over the unit bearings on your CAD axle. Maybe 1/4mpg when both sides are unlocked? Sure they last longer, but you can buy 7 ...

Who the heck is Premier? SKF is the only brand I can recommend. They are carried as Napa’s house brand. Even Timkens have a lot of issues.

My 19’ 2500 has a different axle than previous years. I don’t know why they would change every trucks axle except the power wagon? Is that the case? The new 11.5 axle is visually different.

Is that it's intended use? I don't see it surviving Moab on the end of a hydraulic ram.
It is specifically for mounting a hydraulic ram.

See about ordering your build through a dealer for a better price.

Iwould probably trade you my chrome front end for your black front end if it swaps over.

Re: Anybody build a driveline protection solution that works?

I understand the 19 won’t take existing rear covers but I haven’t tried them. I don’t know about axle shafts. I’ve tried finding info on gears and bearings but haven’t had any feedback saying heard the same as previous years. There’s a high probability they are, but it isn’t confirmed.

I’d be happy to share the specs I use. Being that I carry trail ready and spec wheels for 37’s and 40’s. Those two options require a very different approach. Each of them also has a good operating range that varies based on preference.

Re: Anybody build a driveline protection solution that works?

All 2500/3500 trucks have the changes underneath. Power wagons aren’t special variants. New front axle casting, new rear axle casting, larger rear axle tubes, different diff cover patterns (existing diff guards won’t fit the new trucks), new transfer case, new Rzeppa front driveshaft, new rear driv...

Re: 100% cure for death wobble

The most important jobs of a steering stabilizer are to damp the smallest initial movements, and to output a lot of force at a very low shaft speed to resist big jerks to the steering. Emulsion shocks like almost every Rancho, Bilstein, Fox, etc. do poor jobs of these because the mixed nitrogen in t...
