Re: Another Government Wagon Auction

This is the cheaper route. It’s what I did with my truck. I think I have $20,000 in my truck and it’s decked out and reliable.

Control Arms

Thuren arms are 03-09 and 10-13 as well, just ordered a set for Ace today. It’s the size of the hardware so the 03-09 years have a 16mm lower and 14mm upper bolt and the 10-13 years have an 18mm lower and 16mm upper bolt if I remember correctly. The joint itself is machined for the bolt size from Th...

Re: Control Arms

Who has purchased from Thuren? Do you call him, or does he have distributors? George from 8Lug doesn't appear to carry his products. Just installed a set of thuren Bent arms on an 06. O rub on 37s and stock wheels. I highly reccommend them You should do a build thread on that truck dude. The contro...

I am a dealer/installer for Thuren if you (or anybody here) need parts, or have questions or need help troubleshooting

Re: Control Arms

The Aliens are super stout and those brackets are ideal for sliding over rocks. I replaced a set of BDS long arms with a set of Aliens on a truck that went to Moab - zero comparison. The older BDS arms made of 2.0”x.120” DOM didn’t stand a chance and were bent like crazy I've only seen pic's of the...

Re: Control Arms

If it’s not in the budget, make are the control arm bolts are TIGHT TIGHT. My arms are totally gone but still work fine. I have sympathy for my driveshaft but otherwise it doesn’t hurt anything. If you’re buying new arms, either go proper budget and get the Thuren short arms or go for the best setup...

Re: Shock suggestion for towing/daily driver

Overland’s are too soft for having 600lbs on the hitch? Uh. Take that advice and file it in the round bin. I love having my King 2.5 bypass shocks on the rear axles for towing, they are night and day and can’t be compared to anything smaller or even non-bypass shocks, but there’s no way I’d recommen...

No tire stays at it’s manufactured diameter when you set 2,000lbs on it

Re: Shock suggestion for towing/daily driver

If you need to keep the budget lean, there’s no substitute for Thuren’s Overland shocks. They are super cheap for being a healthy sized shock with pretty long travel. The valving in them is very good for the dodges and should make you pretty happy! If you’ve got a little more to spend there are some...

Re: 37x12.5 on AEV Saltas – metal trimming or liner only (2018)?

The trimming to fit 37x12.5’s on proper offset wheels is minimal, nothing to worry about. A torch and utility knife cuts through the plastic liner like butter. That’s probably all you’re going to end up doing for those tires and wheels.

Re: 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon spied

If you can put real shocks (3.0+) front and rear, and they improve the traction control system it would be a whole new truck. 7.0L engine sounds sweet but that sounds like some big tradeoffs. Fuel economy isn’t going to go up and I can’t see them putting a less economic engine in place when Ford is ...

Re: Shocks???

You must swap rear coils to Thuren’s to run his rear shocks. The stock coils do not have the extended length necessary for the long travel of his shocks and your coil springs can fall out of their buckets. You will notice a fairly large change by switching to his rear coils, definitely better riding.

Re: 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon spied

I sincerely doubt those holes will be there in production. Those might be to test something or route wires but the thought of weakening a primary suspension component, with increased cost, makes no sense to me in this application. I see no benefit. But we can mindfuck the 3% of the prototype test tr...

Re: 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon spied

The radius arms look identical to me. The rear control arms and brackets look identical. Skid plates and crossmember look identical. The CAD housing looks changed, I see the damper bracket but not the arc of the cast CAD housing. When they made the 3/4th gen split they only changed the body and a fe...

Re: Best Build Decision? Leather....

The original AT’s could probably be a whole league better than the new ones. Maybe the tougher sidewall they put on the KO2’s is the only improvement. I think they ride like crap so it’s hard to even call that a plus.

All of the tire failures at PWIM 2018, 35 trucks and all failures were Duratrac.
I though a toyo got a flat? I’m fairly sure all the destroyed tires were duratracs.
A Toyo AT got a cut sidewall. Different carcass than the MT or RT
