Re: Recall done

If your computer knows you’ve got a sudden cause of detonation issues, yanking cruise control is very plausible. The computer senses a whole lot more things than what throws check engine lights!

Re: Recall done

Quick note regarding cruise control issues, not related to a software issue. If you can turn cruise control on and it works and then out of nowhere it cuts out, it is very possible that an intermittent poor connection exists to an ABS sensor. Any interruption in a plug will cut out cruise control bu...

Re: Transmission/crossover pipe skidplate

Thanks, I sent you an e-mail! Got it, I’ll put your name down when I’m back in town! I got emails from a few others as well. 03-13 skids are still in development. Working to get the gas and diesel trucks with one model has been fun, playing with some interesting geometry to get around the diesel au...

Re: Transmission/crossover pipe skidplate

I just finished a production and have another halfway finished. I’ve definitely been busy keeping up with the backorders and wait list! I should have all wait list orders and parts in stock after this next production finishes. Can anyone interested in a skid email me at sales@dethloffmfg.com and I’l...

Re: Trans Issues - 2016

Most dealers do not seem to grease the cardans. It is almost a moot point though, with a CAD axle and transfer case the front driveshaft only spins when you’re in 4wd. You could probably run the truck into the ground with just factory grease with a perfectly good front driveshaft. On the 03-13 truck...

“Reportedly the 2020 Ram HD will be an all new 5th generation truck as opposed to a heavily refreshed 4th generation truck”

This would be very cool and is what I hoped for. Their spy shots show the opposite of this statement - new cab but reusing the existing frame and suspension.

Re: TrailWhalePowerwagon 2018 PW

I didn’t realize I was exaggerating! I did slice my driveshaft in two, perfect time for an upgrade. Someone managed to shred everything below their cab this year... lol If you can wait until nigh-eternity, or October, whichever comes first, I’m working on a tube/plate hybrid bumper. Timeline not gua...

Re: TrailWhalePowerwagon 2018 PW

I’ve only known one person to hit their steering brace *cough cough* and he took out a few other steering components on other occasions. Don’t pick terrible lines and you’ll be okay. Or, in the case of Florida, don’t worry about it. Some parts ought to be left separated.

Re: Another Government Wagon Auction

Yep, previous owner wrapped a fence round the rear shaft. And the front cardan let go and took out the transfer case. When I bought the truck it had a new front shaft and transfer case and the driveshaft lasted me until I turned it into a two-piece shaft this May in Moab

This is the cheaper route. It’s what I did with my truck. I think I have $20,000 in my truck and it’s decked out and reliable.

Control Arms

Thuren arms are 03-09 and 10-13 as well, just ordered a set for Ace today. It’s the size of the hardware so the 03-09 years have a 16mm lower and 14mm upper bolt and the 10-13 years have an 18mm lower and 16mm upper bolt if I remember correctly. The joint itself is machined for the bolt size from Th...

Who has purchased from Thuren? Do you call him, or does he have distributors? George from 8Lug doesn't appear to carry his products. Just installed a set of thuren Bent arms on an 06. O rub on 37s and stock wheels. I highly reccommend them You should do a build thread on that truck dude. The contro...

I am a dealer/installer for Thuren if you (or anybody here) need parts, or have questions or need help troubleshooting

Re: Control Arms

The Aliens are super stout and those brackets are ideal for sliding over rocks. I replaced a set of BDS long arms with a set of Aliens on a truck that went to Moab - zero comparison. The older BDS arms made of 2.0”x.120” DOM didn’t stand a chance and were bent like crazy I've only seen pic's of the...

Re: Control Arms

If it’s not in the budget, make are the control arm bolts are TIGHT TIGHT. My arms are totally gone but still work fine. I have sympathy for my driveshaft but otherwise it doesn’t hurt anything. If you’re buying new arms, either go proper budget and get the Thuren short arms or go for the best setup...

Re: Shock suggestion for towing/daily driver

Overland’s are too soft for having 600lbs on the hitch? Uh. Take that advice and file it in the round bin. I love having my King 2.5 bypass shocks on the rear axles for towing, they are night and day and can’t be compared to anything smaller or even non-bypass shocks, but there’s no way I’d recommen...

Re: Shock suggestion for towing/daily driver

If you need to keep the budget lean, there’s no substitute for Thuren’s Overland shocks. They are super cheap for being a healthy sized shock with pretty long travel. The valving in them is very good for the dodges and should make you pretty happy! If you’ve got a little more to spend there are some...

Re: 37x12.5 on AEV Saltas – metal trimming or liner only (2018)?

The trimming to fit 37x12.5’s on proper offset wheels is minimal, nothing to worry about. A torch and utility knife cuts through the plastic liner like butter. That’s probably all you’re going to end up doing for those tires and wheels.

Re: 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon spied

If you can put real shocks (3.0+) front and rear, and they improve the traction control system it would be a whole new truck. 7.0L engine sounds sweet but that sounds like some big tradeoffs. Fuel economy isn’t going to go up and I can’t see them putting a less economic engine in place when Ford is ...
