Re: Trans Issues - 2016

ok.. So here is a a bit of an update. Got a call from the dealer yesterday afternoon saying the truck was done. First thing today i made the half hour drive down to the dealer. After 29 days, I was excited to get my truck back. Guy pulled the truck up and I could tell that the whine sound was still ...

Re: Trans Issues - 2016

Welp. Dealer has been in touch over the last two weeks...first they did all the recalls and a software update of sort. For some reason they thought the trans solenoid pack recall was going to fix the whine. Nope. Today they called me and said the truck needs a a new front trans pumps as "it's about ...

Thanks guys. I am going to look again. Can somone send me a link for the needle that works for this application? Amazon? I will keep you posted on the trans issues. Dropped the truck off this morning. While it's in there, request that they grease the front driveshaft... just for shits and giggles. ...

Re: Trans Issues - 2016

Thanks guys. No, I have not had the recall completed. I wonder if that is why I am having issues. I thought it was for solenoid connections? Not all of the 16 trucks got recalls and yes it was for the connectors. I doubt if that's your problem as it said it would cause the trans to go into limp mod...

Not that far north, but almost. We are not too far out of Houghton to the west. Copper Harbor is too far of a commute for almost everyone here... We do commonly refer to the entire Keweenaw Peninsula as the "copper country". Lots of off-road trails and woods roads up here although some of the timbe...

Im stuck between some of the most beautiful waters Michigan has to offer (Elk Lake, Torch Lake, East Grand Traverse Bay) in a small town called Kewadin. Grew up 15 miles away in a small town called Central Lake. Been up here my whole life. Love this place! I was just up in Bellaire for a vacation w...

The next item on the check list for me is the Softtopper. I like that route because of the utility: Good enough for cold or wet sleeping accomitations off the ground. Going to have a removable split shelf for boards, rods and tackle boxes under and flat large sleeping area on top. Put some sturdy T...

Re: Caps/Toppers/camper shells

My truck has two OE side rail caps and the front bulkhead rail is bare metal. The Snugtop uses a dual bulb seal but the dealer squirted a small amount of silicone where the side rails end and the bare metal begins (at the front). There is also a rub shield that sits in front of the cap between the ...

Re: Caps/Toppers/camper shells

It isn't the glass, it is the lip (for lack of a better term) at the bottom of the glass. Snugtop and Leer have structures at the bottom of the glass that cover the top of the tailgate. ARE does also but there are tons of reports of ARE's breaking. On the caps that do not have the tailgate cover, w...

Caps/Toppers/camper shells

Guys.. Looking at "Caps" (as they are called in this part of Michigan). Looking at Leer vs A.R.E. Owned both in the past and seemed to like the Leer better. Although the Leer was a 2006 vintage and the ARE was a 2012 Vintage. I hated that the ARE drained water into the bed from the top corners of th...

Re: Baja Designs Squadron Sport vs. Rigid Duelly / D2

The modules sound like junk, if they were working the computer would not know if you had one light or three. Those cubes only pull 1.4 amps each. The factory fog circuit will easily power 5 amps continuous. Once you have working resistors/decoders you can plug in any light (or combination) you want...
