Well, what else are they going to say'?

Re: Converting overall costs for capability

This is a tough call, as it seems from my limited research , RAM only allows DRW applications to receive the 4.10 (factory) gear ratio with an Aisin, with 3.42 gears being the only offering with the 68RFE (3.73 w/ DRW) seems pretty ridiculous to me. That's a big-chunk alone just to get proper ...

Re: 2018 Power Wagon issues

Well, common sense is telling me, that late-2017 / early-2018 when Mexico got the message that the Ram HD vehicle production is moving from Saltillo, Coahuila to Warren, Michigan; quality control went w-a-y down and will continue to do so. Just think, If our employer said, 'most front-line workers a...

Re: Best Build Decision? Leather....

My set of 35" K02s were absolute garbage for 33k miles, to the point I went with a true A/T tire with the Yokohama Geolander G015's this time around (wife got 60k out of hers, not a single issue). The K02's had no traction on the street in the rain, downright dangerous with water on the road (which ...

Re: What did you pay for your latest Gen PW

My 15' was around $55,000 MSRP new. I purchased it in 2016 for around $47,000 OTD (traded in my previous SRT M6 Challenger) so the financed amount was a fair amount less after the trade-in. The PW had 3,000 miles on it. Was an SLT trim, has all the 'good options' like Alpine premium radio system, he...

I like the safety factor. With no true guidelines in place for how manufacturers rate these blocks, seems logical to go with what’s worked for the past few decades.

Re: A Tale of Diagnostic Woe

Every time I think about purchasing a lifetime warranty, I look at all the frustration I've had and others have experienced with dealerships for minor issues. I had to go up to RAM Corporate, posting pictures on RAM's social media to even get a headlight replaced during my bumper-to-bumper coverage,...

Re: Overkill? (Snatch Block)

Snatch block is one of the pieces of gear I don't want to get wrong. Can understand going bargain basement price shopping if it was for a 2-ton Toyota, not a 3.5-ton PW. Now I'm off to recovery boards, going with the x-bull/boar offroad. Pretty much a direct rip off of the two originators, Treds & M...

Don't think I would ever trust my life to a $30 snatch block!

Probably going to go with ARB. Well documented and proven to work

ARB 9000 looks like my best option, 38.5k breaking strength and only 5lb. $100.

Just picked up 2 of them for the deuce and a half, thanks again for posting this!

Edit- I only got one, the last one apparently. They’re now sold out.
:cash: Guess I'll be going with ARB or MP! I love the Sportsmans Guide, can't beat the 4-pay system.

Re: Overkill? (Snatch Block)

This snatch block was used for the 5-ton (m39 series) 20k winch, which the vehicle itself is 20,000 +/- lbs if that means anything. It's built by Ulven Machinery, probably cost the government quite a bit originally. These are in desert tan, so I'm guessing, a bit newer production (maybe desert storm...

Overkill? (Snatch Block)

https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/us-military-surplus-xlg-tackle-block-new?a=2079018 10-ton for $87. Good choice for the PW? Wanting a 6-8 ton WLL that's American made, tough to find them. It's between this and the run-of-the-mill 6-ton yarding/snatch blocks from China that cost $60 (tha...

Re: If you own a 2015 PW and it's hesitating/surging...

Well, I'll put this here. I had a 2002 Corvette Z06 drop a valve pulling out of a parking space, valve spring was in two pieces. Warranty covered it, as I had service records showing a proper oil change history. That same Corvette left me stranded 3-times, 'service column lock'. Dealer said there is...

Re: If you own a 2015 PW and it's hesitating/surging...

It may be a good idea to go to another dealer after your new coolant reservoir, drive it in, tell them exactly what the truck is doing (bucking / surging), and pay the diagnostic fee for them to figure out exactly what is wrong with your truck. Yes, I absolutely feel your pain, my truck did it for 3...

Yes, even in tow/haul mode it will still surge, just nowhere near the level without it being in tow/haul mode. I don't believe I've ever really noticed the ECO light on mine, then again, I'm only averaging 13.2-13.8 MPG.

** Nick, be sure to print this out and bring it with you. Tell them this is exactly what you want done (as being verified your PCM has this update), as your truck has been hesitating and stuttering, and other members of a RAM forum have found this to be a solution. https://chrysler.oemdtc.com/TSB/18...

Re: 2015 6.4 Hemi EGR Issues?

Nick, please go to the service center ASAP and have them do the flash, it's considered .2 hours labor, the service bulletin states it takes around 5-minutes to actually perform the PCM reflash. At least at that point, it could be another (check) marked off the list on potential causes and/or solutio...

If you own a 2015 PW and it's hesitating/surging...

Go to the service department, have them look up service bulletin # 18-097-16. It completely solved the light/part throttle hesitation & surging issues with my truck, which literally, plagued it from mile one to mile thirty-six thousand. I know others have had this issue, I just wanted to put it out ...

Re: 2015 6.4 Hemi EGR Issues?

Nick, I was one of the first to post about a surging issue in 2016 with my 2015 PW. It may be the same issue, under light acceleration the truck would surge / hesitate, like the engine was running incredibly lean. I tried everything at that point, tanks of 87 octane, 87-93 mix (true 89), 93 octane, ...

Another reason the Diesel PW may have never happened

Payload capacity. Numbers are rounded and generally very close. It makes sense why Dodge and RAM both have never pursued this in over a decade, outside of other major limitation factors. The only way to reasonably increase payload capacity is to reduce articulation. RAM 2500 Tradesman Power Wagon 4x...
