Re: Alpine Loop - Colorado Camping

I always go on the 4th. The 4th is a blast. Just cannot camp in the Valley near Silverton obviously. We are planning to camp off Stony Pass this year, maybe just camp on the trail. The parade is fun and we always take a massive amount of Moriarty Ordinance with us.

Re: Rubicon Trail and Fordyce Creek May12th-18th

Wow that is early in the year! Sierras are that dry this year? I will be going in August. Certainly not two trails for the faint of heart. Fordyce has become insanely difficult, but what a beautiful trail it is. Makes all the wrenching and welding worth it.

Re: Warn Wireless Remote Issues

Thing is we had no winter this year. Had to flip a Chia Pet( Kia thing) back over blocking the road today. Guess the dog jumped in her lap and she hit the cliff. Flipping cars back over with the Power Wagon never gets old. creeeeek..........Shusplammmmmmm! You guys with good, boring drivers in your ...

Warn Wireless Remote Issues

So really needed my winch the other day and again the stupid Warn wireless remote did not work, in 90 MPH wind and I chunked it across the driveway. I called Warn and they said to ask for a replacement. Also confirming it works fine with our winches. But not sure if they are just BS ing me. Does any...

Re: MOAB 2018 - CANCELLED

It is a real shame. Charging for events like these and requiring insurance should be limited to for profits or much larger groups certainly. I am attempting to get into river rafting this year. And its is BRUTAL with extreme enforcement. Almost takes the fun out of it. I gave up Cave Exploration bec...

Re: Quick question on tire pressures

Yes on the door but why? No way the stock tires need 65PSI. Hitting any bump and especially off-road is like crashing into a brick wall. I have owned plenty of rigs weighing in at 5-5500lbs and 28-35lbs was perfect. No way a 7K rig needs 65lbs.

Re: Quick question on tire pressures

After searching endless old posts here, I came up with 50 front and 45 rear. I believe that is perfect. I have no idea where 60 and 65 came from the it turns the tires into wagon wheels and the ride is brutal. And I live off-road so forget it. I towed a heavy forklift at this pressure and had no iss...

Re: Transmission issue.

Snooping around the internet this seems like a common problem for Wix. Causing transmission damage, and even fires from cracked external filters. Making cheap ass filters seems like a dangerous game not worth playing.

Re: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum rebate (for guys with the 6.4l)

Most modern transmissions blow if you don't use the exact oil. However its 100-125K oil changes which is bitchen. However on my 05 Xterra the metal in the cooling tubes inside the radiator were vulnerable to erosion from the transmission fluid and every one failed letting water into the transmission...

I use the Rediwelder. Its a monster. Have welded anything you can think of and the batteries would still start the vehicles. You can just disconnect the battery on the repair vehicle and bring over one from another.

Re: Super Bowl Commercial

Not very politically correct these days TwinStick, but you are correct. We have carried the serving thing way too far. Cops become cops because after 20 years they retire with a pension, medical, ect and start a new career all over again. My dad did that in the Air Force. Now to pensions plus Social...

Frankly I love Ram Super Bowl commercials. But apparently this one is controversial. I actually missed it but just saw it on TFL truck.

Re: Recent Warranty Work

I really don't think so. Electrical Gremlin seem pretty rare on Rams. And things like Sat Nav are really solid. That being said my Garage door has un-programed 2 times and I am going to try to figure that out now. Anyone else have that issue?

Re: Recent Warranty Work

Maybe heavy duty trucks require more repairs? That seems counter intuitive. But you have to recognize where Japanese truck buyers come from. I would not expect repairs at all under say 125K. I beat the snot out of my 05 Titan( took it off-roading some, live off-road, got stuck fourhweeling towing an...

Re: Recent Warranty Work

Leaky hose I get, it happens. But you do have to wonder why after all these years they struggle with something like unit bearings. Time will tell, so far pretty impressed with how the truck feels. Not as smooth as the Titan in some ways, like engine idle, but that's probably MDS. Had some hard clunk...
